Question about Echo CS400 18" Chain Saw

Need fuel line diagram for Echo CS400 chainsaw

This saw has a gas line or vent line coming from the crankcase into the carburator. I think this has something to do with EPA environmental emissions laws, I'm not sure how to connect all the gas lines from the purge bulb tank and the line from the engine block. Please help.

SOURCE: Echo 452VL chainsaw won't start

yes it does.the filter is in the fuel tank on the end of fuel line.if it isn't the fuel line needs to be replaced and a new filter installed.there is most likely some of the fuel line in side the carb. there is a small filter inside and it usualy collects the broken fuel line there. take the carb apart oppiset of the diaphram.usualy it's the side with only one screw.carefully blow the **** from it and the saw will get fuel again and start

Make sure the fuel filter is indeed attached to the fuel line in the tank and pushed down to the bottom of the tank.

If it's not getting spark with a new plug, then it may be the module ignition (coil). But you really need to get in a dark area and try to see if it's getting spark. If it is getting spark let me know, I should still be able to help you.

You will need to release the brake by applying a very heavy screwdriver to the + shaped part of the brake coupling. Check the action of the brake handle and duplicate it at the the +. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: how to replace primer bulb on small echo gas chain saw.

I just replaced the primer bulb on my Echo cs-305.
I didn't find the parts list too helpful.

It's easy. All you have to do is remove the air filter and look at the existing bulb from the bottom-- you can reach in with a screwdriver and pop the 'feet' holding it in place off their catches. When I put the new one in, I attached the tubes using a pair of needlenose pliers.

My Echo CS 3400 chain saw has an air vent problem

Most handheld power tools have a tank vent that will hold some pressure, Don't quote me. But If I turn the saw sideways and the vent allowed fuel to drain out THIS WOULD CREATE A FIRE HAZARD. If the fuel is boiling when you open the fuel cap could this be a engine temperature problem? or low octane fuel.

Check the fuel filter, air cleaner, and muffler for plugging. Check the fuel lines for any damage. Make sure the carburetor is not coming loose from the engine. Hope this helps!

If your saw is not listed type "CS" in the “Model:” window, click "Search" and select your saw from the list provided.
I think the serial number is key to getting the correct one.

Engine dies at full throttle, manual says to clean fuel filter and vent but no clue where they are.. only ran 4 tanks of fuel through it before this started all of a sudden, not gradual loss of power,...

Fuel filter is usually on the end of the "fuel finder" hose inside the tank. The tank vent is USUALLY a small hole in the tank cap.

OFTEN these problems are caused by the diaphram in the fuel pump going bad, or the check valves if it has sat with fuel in it. The diaphram is in the carbureator and works from the vacuum pulses . The check valves are tiny flappers. If you have the problem, a carb rebuild kit is the fix.

Cs 3000 carburator rebuild instructions

Go to: http://www.drystacked.com for a 12 page article on Walbro brand carburetors that apply to other brands as well. Make sure that all the external factors have been checked--fuel filter, fuel lines, primer, and carburetor fastener tightness. Check the air cleaner and muffler for plugging. Good luck!
