Question about Vinotheque Whisperkool 3000 Wine Cooling Unit (Max Room Size = 650 cu ft)
I have a Whisperkool Model 3000 wine cellar cooler. Recently, it developed about an inch of ice on each of the two cool air outlets. The unit continued to operate during the ice build up. What is the likely cause of this problem?
And the temperature hasn't changed at all (still set at 55ºF)? A troubleshooting guide says you can check if the cause is because too much heat was lost to adjacent areas, and you can try to add more insulation around the ductwork and ensure doorways and glass panels are sealed. Other than that... not sure. If it's older, maybe you can look into a new Whisperkool split system or cooling system (there's some great ones on http://www.vintagecellars.com).
