The heater is designed to continueously run the igniter , so as if there is a flame-out ,it will reignite the burner,and not dispurse unburned gas into your enviroment.

ODS/Pilot may be clogged make sure you clean it out according to the instructions in your owner's manual. If you need a copy of the manual let me know and I will try to find it for you. If it is still not working it could be the gas regulator or the ignitor cable. For Glow warm parts contact Master Parts at 800-446-1446 or you also can find them online at www.masterparts.net. Try to take pilot assembly apart and clean real good. This will work most of the time. If it does not work for you, you will need to replace the gas valve. It's expensive but I'm about positive that cleaning it will fix it. Gas burns dirty and after a couple seasons a scale builds up that causes this problem. It's pretty common and nothing to worry about after it's cleaned. Good luck.
