You can but you will have to put two speakers on the main L/R and two speakers on the remote L/R. DO NOT HOOK UP MORE THAN ONE SPEAKER TO A CHANNEL. Doing so can result in the amp running hot and damage will occur.

SOURCE: Marantz support question

Hi I had my SR7200 in the shop also. The 1st time they said that they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I brought it home and had the same problem. Brought it back and they had it for about 1 month and finally called and said that they talked with Marantz and the DSP needed to be replaced. They said that they would have to send it to Mararntz and it would cost about $150

SOURCE: No sound out of speakers (Marantz SR5200 receiver)

sounds like you might need to open it up and check the speaker wires that you plug your speakers up to it might be lose or something else like that cause it happened to me before and that was it.

SOURCE: new tv, new marantz sr5004, hdmi cable- no sound

To really help you would require a bit more detail. HDMI is the video part of the signal - the audio part may require additional cables. Also, source material may play a role. I'd start by seeing if you have some audio outputs from whatever your source is and connecting those to the Marantz. Beyond that, I'd need more info to be sure I was giving decent advice.

I have a Marantz turtntable, a Marantz CD player, an Eltax tape player and a Marantz amplifier with two Cambridge speakers, how do I wire them up please.

If you have a pure amplifier, there may only be one set of inputs, and one or two pairs of speaker outputs. The inputs are probably RCA plugs. Connect the CD or tape player to these. The speaker outputs are typically heavier binding posts or wire clamps. Each speaker should have one pair of wires. One for the 'Red' post, another for the 'Black' post.

If you have a 'Receiver' you will have several inputs to use and switches in front to select them. The CD and tape can be plugged into either tape, CD, or Aux inputs. (Not 'Phono') The speakers hookup is the same as for the amplifier.

You may also want to google the make-model of your amp to find a manual....

MARANTZ MA 700 NOT SURE HOW TO MAKE CONNECTIONS. NO MANUEL. LIGHTS UP

you'll want to use the rca sub out from your pioneer, to almost any input (aux, tape, cd) of the marantz, then speaker cable from marantz to sub. once you get them hooked up, adjust volume, bass, on the marantz to blend well with main speakers at a nominal lvl,

What kind of speaker watts should be ok to marantz pm74d?..i want to know to make the sounds make better...

Hi,to know what watts to use for marantz pm74d, first you will need to know the watts of marantz pm74d for you to be able to know the watts of the speaker you will want to use for marantz pm74d.

You make sure the watts of the marantz pm74d you want to use for the speakers are not bigger the watt of the marantz pm74d,

eg, marantz pm74d----150 watts
speakers depending on the numbers of speakers your using 60 watts.

So if you are using one speaker of 60 watts and your using more than one, add all speaker watts and divide the speaker watts by the marantz pm74d watts, the weight on the marantz pm74d will be too much to handle too much speakers.

Make sure the marantz pm74d watts is high enough to carry the speaker you want to use.It helps you determine the quality of sound you want to hear..

Thanks for using fixya........

I run 4 ohm speakers through a marantz sr7001 amp and it keeps overheating can you help?

ALL 4-ohms per speaker? If you ran the A's and B's together you'd have at most a 2-ohm load.

It's not even spec'd for 4-ohms. You're running it on the hairy edge of self-immolation.

I have a marantz sr 7001 amp and am running canton 4ohm speakers to front and centre should my amp get really hot and go into protect mode when I am giving it some serious volume

it is not made to drive 4 ohm loads.also if you measure the impedance on the speaker,at some frequencies,it is closer to 3 ohms. This will cause the amplifier to shut down.Today's amplifiers are embellished specs.the old marantz 2325 was 125 watts a channel and weighed 80 pounds. It would eat alive some of the 1000 watt home theater amps of today.Marantz is very nice stuff.

Just got two AR 312 HO speakers from my brother. I have a Yamaha HTR 6250. The speakers have (2) sets of cable hook up. One I assume is for built in sub woofers? Do I hook one normal and one to the sub...

do not use those speakers with that amp, those are 4 ohm speakers, which could damage your 8 ohm yamaha amp. you will have to get a 4 ohm capable amp to run the highs, and another 4 ohm amp to run the subs.

car amplifiers are currently 4 ohm, or even 2/1 ohm stable, but few, if any modern receivers can run at anything lower than 8 ohms without a danger of overheating. you may have to get a vintage amp(s), like a 1970's marantz receiver, or a 1980's to early 1990's kenwood power amp, because 4 ohm home amps are pretty scarce nowadays.

whatever amp(s)( you get, verify that they are DEFINITELY 4 ohm stable.

Center speaker hookup to a MARANTZ mdl 2238

Hi tliguyanadig

You can hook up the speaker "between" left and right outputs. Just connect the center speaker between left +ve and right +ve outputs respectively. It will give a spacial effect that some like and some dont:) Try it and see for yourself. Your marantz amp will handle the load OK. It is rated 38 watts into 8 ohms, but there is not alot of load presented by this sort of setup. Let me know what you think.

Graeme
