SOURCE: Canon MP145:Stop error E5 , use scanner only

THIS SOLUTION FOR PEOPLE WHO CANNOT RESET THEIR OWN PRINTER LIKE ME

hi, now i got a solution how to SCAN if your printer have E-5 error or something. First u must remove the both cartridge from your printer and make sure u connect your printer to your computer, after that, do this

With the printer powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding the Stop/ Reset button.

When the Power is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.

And then you will see no error in your printer (the LED shows number 1,and the alarm is in green)

NOW U CAN SCAN USING MP NAVIGATOR!

You need to carefully clean the encoder strip. It's the clear strip behind the carriage that runs all the way from right to left. A damp Q-tip should remove any grease or fingerprints.

Received an error code 50c on my Dell printer

Regarding the Dell A940 "Error 50c"....the user guide doesn't seem to mention "Error 50c". They do, however, mention a "Cartridge Error" on page 52 of the manual. They claim this means that the printer has detected a short circuit (fuse/resister) in the cartridge. As you may or may not have noticed in the manual, this is what they recommend doing about it:

1) Press Power to turn the printer off.

2) Lift the printer cover/lid (scanner unit) until the scanner support holds it open.

3) Turn the printer on.
The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy.

4) Remove the color ink cartridge.

5) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.
If the error message displays again, replace the black cartridge with a new black cartridge.

If the error message does not display, repeat steps 1–3 and then go to step 6.

6) Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black ink cartridge.

7) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If the error message displays again, replace the color cartridge with a new
color cartridge.
If there is no error message (indicated by flashing lights), repeat steps 1–3 and then reinstall both ink cartridges.
8) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If you get the error message again, while both cartridges are installed, replace both of the cartridges.

Basically, what they want you to determine is,....if the short circuit is with the "black ink" cartridge or the "color ink" cartridge and then replace the cartridge that has the problem.

Thanks for all the ideas and help ; )

I have a problem on my canon mp145 with an error code E4. But I already change it to a new cartridge but still the error code still appears. I also reinstall the drivers but still the same.

Hi, I found this answer on the net. Let me know if this helps
A Canon MP145 E4 Error Code means that your Printer didn't detect the Ink Cartrigde. It sometimes happen when you're using a non-original cartridge or infusing it. When Canon Printer detect this abnormality, the first Canon self defense system is by Stop Printing. And then displaying some messages on your Computer Screen, indicating that your ink cartridge have to be replaced because it's EMPTY. Below are the manual way to correct this problem : Turn On Your Printer. Wait Till The Printer Led Screen Show The Error Code ( E4). Then Press and Hold Black & Color Button for about 5 - 10 seconds.
Thanks

Black ink low, error message 5200

Normal 0 Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

E5 and 2,114,0 errors on Canon MP160

I got this Error 2,114,0 with my MP210 and none of the above fixes worked. This is how I have got it working again: Press and hold the maintenance (picure of spanner and screw driver) button and the reset button ( Inverted red triangle) together for five seconds or more. The flashing error code 1 and 6 will then stop flashing and replaced by a print copy no 1. The printer/scanner is reset and the scanner works.
