Well, to narrow down the problem, let's try making sure your graphics drivers are current to what the manufacturer recommends. You can find the support page for your model here:
Just click "Drivers" next to where "Manuals" is currently selected. You can also try updating your Chipset driver as well, just to be thorough. If you are running Windows 7, be sure to pick the Windows 7 version of the drivers. Download them and run the self-extracting utility and then setup.exe.
Hopefully this will fix your problem.

You will and external CD-ROM or DVD ROM in order to format the Netbook.You can used MS-DOS to format the Hard drive.
Yopu can download the bootable MS-DOS using the link below
or you can use any Windows XP Bootable CD to format the hard drive too.

Hello and thank you for using Fixya!
You may want to purchase an electrical conversion plug. I had a co-worker that went to China, plugged in her laptop and it surged it out. I am not sure about electrical regulations in other places but this sounds familiar to her situation.
I do believe this would be covered under the warranty without the travelling part included. They may honor the warranty as a faulty hardware.
If they do not, then more than likely it is the video graphics card or inverter on the screen that got surged.
Attach an external monitor and see if this happens. If it doesn't happen while attached to the external modem, then it is the inverter andyou will need to replace screen.
If it continues to do this while connected to external monitor, then the video graphics card is going out.

The problem you are experiencing is from either the screen of your laptop,the screen board which holds the screen in place or the screen bulb which lights up your screen.
You should get an expert to diagnose which one of the three is faulty, but at least one of the three things i have listed is faulty.
