Not working properly back fires, goes through spark plugs

I have used up a spark plug on this in 3 months. Once that dies, I have to replace it.

The spark plug is black and fluffy as you say it is probably a flywheel key. It has gone over many rocks and roots. The model is 12AV569Q711. But the engine is Honda. That is the way it was sold in the store.

Sorry wrong model number: 12AV834Q711. The engine is GCV160 and the manual says to check the brake shoe is a minimum of 3 mm. I will keep you posted.

Turns out the flywheel key looks fine. I am putting in a new one but I bet that wasn't the problem since the old one looks just like the new one.

What is the color of the spark plug when it is done? Black and fluffy means weak spark or ignition timing is off ( flywheel key). White or light colored and glazed means hot. Usually lean fuel condition and or the presence of the fuel.

I have a 18 hp briggs engine. no fire with coil wire unplugged. bought new coil, and installed it. it cranked up and ran for about 3 min. and died. again no fire. i left it for about 4 hrs. came back...

I think that the problem you have is not with the coil.
let me explain : when there is the need to stop the engine simply we push a button or use a lever in both cases what it simply does the coil is grounded to earth this stops the spark supply to the spark plugs . find the cable which connect from the switch on to the coil because this cable
intermits to short to earth stopping the spark going to the spark plug ( replace cable this will prevent the engine to stopping )

Got problem with my 1994 Honda cbr900rr , 1 spark plug always damaged with the damage occurred an average of once a month.. everytime that plug got damaged, I will change a new plug into it, but about a...

It almost sounds like your piston is slightly hitting the spark plug by your description. Does the bike stall once the damage occurs and how extensive is it? If thats the case, are you sure your using the exact plug that is specified for that bike? If you go to a shorter style plug that might solve your problem. Its a place to start.

How do you properly replace spark plugs in a 96 dodge stratus?

pull off plug grabbing it as close to spark plug as you can. Using socket rotate counterclockwise and remove plug. Be careful putting plugs back in and thread by hand first. Then torque as plug box says as it depends on if you have a washer or not.

When I replace the spark plug wires on my 2000 4runner how do make sure that the wires are in the correct order

Okay, on the photos I am posting, pick the size of motor that you have....since you didn't post it. When you find the right photo of your motor, the numbers on the engine correspond to the number of the spark plug that goes to the coil...1 to 1, 2 to 2 and so on. This is your firing order and will ensure you have the proper spark plug firing from the correct point:

1FZ-FE engine Firing order: 1–5–3–6–2–4Distributor rotation: counterclockwise

5VZ-FE engine Firing order: 1–2–3–4–5–6Distributorless ignition system

2RZ-FE and 3RZ-FE engines Firing order: 1–3–4–2Distributor rotation: clockwise

2RZ-FE and 3RZ-FE engines Firing orders: 1–3–4–2Distributorless ignition system

2UZ-FE engines Firing order: 1–8–4–3–6–5–7–2Distributorless ignition system

3 cilynder not working

While checking for "spark" = "fire" make sure you do it properly. These shocks hurt and could result in injury or even death.
1. Pull and check the Spark Plug for Cylinder #3. There are spark plug tester's at autoparts stores that you can buy and some are for rent. They are easy to use. If still no Spark PROCEED to Steps #2 and #3 below before replacing the Spark Plug. If the Spark Plus is dirty, fouled, or incorrectly gapped: clean, and regap the plug and recheck.
2. Check for "fire" at the spark plug end of the wire for Cylinder #3. Is there consistent sparking? If not then PROCEED to Step #3 below before replace the wires.
3. Check for "fire" at the Coil="Distributor" for Cylinder #3. Is there consistent sparking from the Coil? If not the Coil could be Bad.
If there is Consistent Spark from the Coil but no Spark from the Wire = Replace the Wire.
If there is Consistent Spark from the Coil and Wire = Replace the Plug.

Engine light keeps comeing on mecanic change o2 senser worked for half hour came back on cods keep saying its miss fireing have had this problem for a month know

Start Small work to Big = Saved Money!
The Code(s) should be telling the specific cylinder(s) that are misfiring. Do you know waht the code is?
Target those cylinders 1st before testing the unaffected cylinders.
The following should isolate the problem(s).
1. Spark plugs - take out-reconnect back to wires and test spark plugs for getting sparks. If none: Don't replace them yet. GO TO 2. If the spark plugs are worn, dirty them replace them.
2. Remove spark plugs form end of ignition wires and test for spark from the wire. If none: Don't replace them yet. GO TO 3.
3. Remove the wires from the coil connection and test the coil for spark for each cylinder. If none: Don't replace it yet.
4. Test each spark plug and wires this way.
5. Coil Packs normally provide fire for 2-cylinders at the same time. The two are paired across from one another.
6. Test the coil for fire, amount of fire and if there is both cyclinders firing.
Misfire and the O2 Sensor got replaced??
Good Luck and get back with me if you need additional help or if this solved the problem.

I just changed all spark plugs and wires with boash platium +4 spark plugs and boash wires. the problem i'm having it's only firing on 5 not 6, i checked all wires and there in the right places. I have...

1. Double check the connections at BOTH ends of the wires- at the distributor and at the plug. 2. Make sure each spark plug boot has proper connection. 3. Double check the plugs to make sure that they are all gapped correctly and no contamination. 4. Hold each spark plug upright and make sure that the ceramic insulator near the tip isn't loose and sliding down and possibly covering the metal tip..(had this happen more than once) 5. Check for spark at each plug (be careful) 6. Open the distributor cap and double check all the exposed metal connectors are clean. 7. buy one extra plug and change out the suspect plug.
