Canon MF4370dn Network Multifunction Laser Networking setup prob

I need to figure out how to hard reset my new canon machine. I somehow messed up the network setting through my remote UI and now my printer cannot be found on the network. Any help?

I never figured out how to reset the machine but I figured out what I messed up on. I accidentally toggled the MAC address RX Auto to off. This means you must specify the MAC address of the machine you want to access it. This is why my computer could not find the printer. I went into the settings on the machine and changed it to auto and it works great.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

The unit has a bad SCNT board. There is no method for forcing an update while stuck in BIOS Mode. Canon part #: FM4-1273. MSRP is $335.87 if you buy new from an Canon Authorised Service Facillity (ASF).

In Win Vista my new Canon mf4370dn is being reported as offline.

Go to this canon site and install the firmware update. This was happening to me all the time until I installed this firmware update and now I can print to it all the time. I used to have to turn the printer off and back on just to get the printer to wake up.

Exact same problem as OP

Canon support was able to help me with this issue.

First, scanning with the MF Toolbox is only supported via USB, not across the network (scanning across the network generally does work but you need another application that supports it). Second, you must make sure that you have switched the device into USB scan mode. Press the Scan button on the device. If the display says "Network scanning" press it again until it says USB Scanning. From then on, scanning works beautifully.

Canon MF4370dn printer network connection problem

Hi,
I had the same problem. I entered the info manually and it works. You could follow the instructions on how to do it manually in the e-manual (on the CD).
To get the IP, subnet mask, and default gateway: open a command prompt from windows. At the command prompt, type "ipconfig" without the quotes. Write down the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway.
For the IP, for example, if what you have from the step above is 192.168.0.100, add 10 (so that you wont have repeated IPs by auto DHCP from the router. I am assuming you have no more than 5 machines on your network.) to the last number to have 192.168.0.110 to enter manually into the printer. Use the same subnet mask and default gateway.
Hope it helps.
Linh.
