SOURCE: Washer continues to fill but

A defect in the water-inlet valve may mean that it's no longer able to shut off completely when the electricity has been turned off to it. If this occurs, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub. In time, the water may accumulate substantially. If this happens, you need to replace the valve.
A defect--or an obstruction--in the water-level switch may mean that it can't tell the water to shut off. So the machine overflows. This switch senses the water level in the clothes tub. It's usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level in the tub increases, the pressure on the air in the tube increases. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch, shuts off the water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. You can either clear any obstruction in the tube or replace the water-level switch.

GE Model PSIC3RGXBV. Inside freezer at top of ice chute, frost builds up. Returns after wiping. Happens on Humid and non-humid days. Empty nesters so doors are closed quickly. All vents inside clear.

the model number didn't come up,but if you have an air leak most likely it's gonna be the ice chute door itself not fully closing, you can get paper towels, and stuff them into the chute hole for a couple of days to see if that's the problem, another thing is open the door and put a light in front of the chute door and look down the hole,if you see light then the door isn't sealing or check the door gasket for any tears

I have a GE Washer (model # WWA5669MAL). The pump

That is supposed to be weep hole. If water is pouring out then that is a sure sign of a worn out old school GE pump. The good news it that is an easy pump to replace. the hardest part is replacing the drive boot from pump to motor. Nothing to it 0895584.gif

Best way to remedy your problem is to replace boot. The boot moves and stretches quite a bit. Patch would hold up

Torn rubber boot

for model # wsxh208a the part is
WH45X10062 - KIT-BELLOWS & MTG SPRING
should be able to change through bottom access panel and door hole.
make sure to pull clothes gently straight out of the unit and not at an angle across the rubber boot, it tears really easy..
hope this helps,
best of luck,

My GE Front load washer (WBVH6240) has an odor that smells like mildew in it. If the is left closed the odor is really bad. Do you know how to fix this or what is comes from?

run a empty cycle with bleach on whites/ sanitize. clean boot (rubber gasket at door) with bleach or other cleaner inside especially at bottom, make sure 3 holes at bottom are clear.
this may take multiple cycles to rid of odor.
For maintenance, you should wipe excess water from boot after last load, and check lower drain holes. Once a month wipe boot with windex or other. and run cleaner cycle (empty) newer machines have a special clean washer cycle. (6240 doesnt).
Also clean your drain pump filter at bottom front behind access panel.
If boot is really bad , replace.

How to change a GE dishwasher door seal

I had the same exact problem TWICE....second time I'm replacing the dishwasher. There are two rubber boots at the bottom of the door that just sit and the door seal is supposed to seat into these rubber boots but if you take out the boot you will see that it is misshapen and therefore leaking. These boots cost about $10 dollars apiece from GE on line. I replaced them once and same problem. I was going to replace the gasket that runs around the door but it costs $50 and I'm not SURE it will fix the problem. I'm on my way right now to buy a new dishwasher....they're not that expensive compared to pumping money into something that you don't know if it will work. Good Luck.

Door seal on GE Adora Washing Machine

After going through 2 different places that sent me the wrong part, I finally got the right boot seal today from Home Depot Appliances. I just gave them my model number and they overnighted the new boot seal to me, and for only $100. To call a GE repairman, it was going to cost $70 in the trip and $170 for the seal. Rip Off. We did it ourselves. Saved a lot of time and waiting.
