Hi Mike! To check the filter on the Floormate deluxe, remove the dirty water tank and pull up on tank lid to separate from the base. Check foam filter for debris, if filter has debris, rinse it with water. To prevent internal damage make sure you are using only the Hoover Floormate detergent. If the machine is still noisy and smells bad we recommend taking it in to a Hoover authorized service center. Follow the link to find the nearest service center to you. Hope this helps! Sounds like a blockage. I have a DC14 and I have never had this problem. You can easily remove the wand from the flexible hose and the flexible hose from the machine to check for a blockage. Don't allow paper or larger items to go into the machine, especially the wand, pick it up by hand first. Find the online manual here: http://www.analogstereo.com/dyson_vacuum_owners_manual.htm
see this causes and fix it. God bless you If the vacuum cleaner motor does not run the motor itself might be
burned out. Check the power switch first to be sure the motor can get
power. Then, be sure the motor shaft can turn freely, that nothing is
obstructing it. If the motor can turn freely and is getting power but
still won't run it will need to be replaced If the vacuum cleaner motor doesn't run the on - off switch might be
turned off or defective. Test the switch with an Ohm meter or continuity
The brushes are powered by air suction from the motor. At the heart of this complicated system are roller bearings. When one fails the system fails. This is not one of the parts that Hoover thinks is needed on it's parts site so I've haven't found a way to repair this.
