Frigidaire Oven Error F1, what caused it?

While the oven was heating, there was a 'pop' and the breaker blew. When the breaker was reset, the F1 error code shows (and it beeps). Finding melted traces near the large relay, I bought a replacement controller board. (The new controller appeared slightly different, but I just assumed it was a newer version as a replacement. all of the connectors matched and the panel front was the same. Old = 318184400 New = 318185446 When the new controller board was installed, I turned on the breaker, and immediately the new control board smoked a PCB trace and a resistor from the large relay to P5-pin 5 (Neutral) (I can't tell the resister value and old board leaves it unpopulated) So I tested the Bake/Broil coils ~21ohms on each, no faulty looking wiring, So before I smoke another...what would cause the board to fry in the first place? and what else do I test for?

Oven Model: FES355DSA . ECM Suggested by several parts web-sites = 318185446, ECM pulled from oven = 318184400 (SF5306 RevD)Rev D. PCB Trace blown at Relay K3 (OMRON G8P-1C4P) at the pin going out to L2-OUT. I have read all the F1=Replace EOC postings, I already called a "professional" appliance repair person and he said that the replacement EOC must have been bad, and could not explain why the first EOC went bad.. I am looking for more troubleshooting tips, like "Before you connect the new ECM, test *** and make sure it looks like yyy. I don't want to buy and smoke another ECM

Hello - From my research part number: 318184400 (clock) seems that it has not yet been updated and still the same part number for the MSRP: $163.04. Part can be purchase directly from the manufacturer or a part distributor in your area (part could possibly be different with them). Typically error code F10 could indicate a variety of issues. The range could possibly have a runaway temp (higher than normal temps), shorted keypad, faulty EOC (Electronic Oven Control) or, display wire harness missing/not connected. Usually, this code means to replace the EOC. You may be able to reset the range by disconnecting the power to the unit for up ten minutes. Usually this will clear most false error codes. You can disconnect power by either unplugging the unit or flipping the circuit breaker off and back on. If resetting the unit proves to be ineffective, I would recommend contacting a professional to move forward accurately.

possible solution for above...this would apply to any electric oven.

First of all there are two elements.. one for baking (lower) and one for broiling. (upper) . I assume the lower is not working but is the upper.

Unplug the oven. Then remove the element and have a look at and the connections.

I found that on an lolder ovens where I thought the element had burned out that the electrical connections- ( screwed or spade connection) was so badly corroded that electrical contact was poor. I might add that this was also a fire hazzard.

look for a shorted bake element .. you should be able to see where it poped. ( some times ) if you have ohm meter you can ck for an open element . **** //

How to test oven control board on a Frigidaire FEF366DBE?

Hello Shawn Lloyd, thank you for your post!

I see that your Frigidaire range blew the breaker to your home out and now the oven will not heat up properly. There is not information provided in order to test the control panel I would recommend having a professional technician for proper diagnosis and repair. The technician will be able to use appropriate tools in order to verify the control panel is working properly. -Matt

Element blew in oven; now stove doesn't work....

Sounds like the loose oven element caused a short circuit, which may have fried a wire inside the range. Or, it may have tripped the circuit breaker (or blown the fuse) for the range circuit. Check your electrical panel. If the circuit is open, don't reset it until you've removed the remnants of the oven element.

I have a frigidaire oven, my wife touched the oven element with an oven mitt and blew out the main 100 amp house breaker. the oven does not work anymore but the burners are fine. should i buy a new element...

THE ELEMENT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS SHORTED BIG TIME TO TRIP 100 AMP BREAKER. I CAN'T SEE WHY A ELEMENT BEING TOUCHED WOULD DO THAT. CHECK THE WIREING TO THE ELEMENT AND MAKE SURE NOTHING ELSE HAS SHORTED TO ALSO CAUSE THIS PROBLEM, PLEASE TURN THE POWER OFF FIRST. BUT THE ELEMENT CAN BE REPLACED AND NOT THE WHOLE STOVE

F1 fault code Frigidaire electric range

Hi, you stated that you cooked a meal that produced some humidity inside the oven. this is the cause of the F-1 code. the humid conditions that were present at the time, caused the EOC(electronic Oven Control) to short. you will need to replace this control board at this time. it has failed.
