Is the printer connected on one of the pc's with a peer to peer network solution

or

Is the printer connected on the router?

If it's connected to one of the pc's you need to make sure both your computers are in the same ip range like

192.168.1.x where x is one of the pc's. X is also unique.
can also be like 10.0.0.X
It's important that the first 3 digits are the same.

Then it's advisable to have the same workgroup with you can find in your network settings. Depends on the Operating system where it is.

Then you need to go to the properties of your printer on one of the computer and share it with a name. REMEMBER the name

Then on the other computer if the ip-range is good, workgroup is the same you can find it under network devices. Or add printer then network printer and type in the name of the printer which you remembered.

How can I add a brother 145 printer so all laptops in the house can use it wireless

This model printer has only an USB printer connection and normally connected to a computer or laptop.
To connect this printer wirelessly to all laptops on your wireless network there are a couple of methods.
Connect the printer to a desktop computer and setup the printer as a shared printer. Next connect the desktop computer to your wireless router with a LAN cable and then configure the wireless laptops to connect to the shared printer on the desktop computer. NOTE - This desktop computer and printer must be on at all times for the wireless laptops to print to the printer.
OTHER METHOD
Connect the printer to an USB print server and connect the print server to the wireless router with a LAN cable. The printer drivers needs to be installed on all the wireless laptops and then the printer port needs to be deleted from the USB port and a new IP address printer port installed. This IP address will be the IP address of the print server.

How to hook up a wireless printer to a computer

Does the printer also have some "wired" interface (parallel-port, or USB-port)?

If not, then you need to purchase a router with wireless capability:

1. Connect cable-modem (or DSL-modem) to the 'WAN' (or 'IInternet') port on the router.

2. Connect one of the 'LAN' ports on the router to the network-port on your computer.

3. Configure the wireless-adapter inside the router:
* set an SSID -- the "name" of your wireless network
* encryption-level -- use 'WPA' or 'WPA2'
* a password for your network

4. Configure the wireless printer to connect to that SSID, using the password

5. On the computer, click "Add Networked Printer"

6. Print a "test" page: computer -> wired -> router -> wireless -> printer

I have a D-link model DIR-628 and I want to use it for direct my wireless printer, the printer setup ask me for the WAP passphrase to end configuration but I don"t have it. How can I get it?

The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router'swireless settings configured ie SSID, WPA or WPA2 encryption key and also thewireless cards in all the wireless printer, or laptops or computers needs to be configured withthese router's wireless settings. Then the wireless printer, laptops and desktop computers cancommunicate with your wireless router.

Can i hook my printer to this router Linksys wireless-g 2.4ghz

You want to connect a printer to the network.
If you have Ethernet port on the printer then you can connect it to the router with the ethernet cable. IF it is wireless printer then you will need to connect to the wireless network on the printer. In both the cases you will need to set up your printer as a network printer. If you contact the manufacturer of the printer they will tell you how to do it.
If you do not have ethernet port on the printer and it has only USB port and it is not a wireless printer then you will need a print server. You can purchase a wireless print server and you can set it up so that all the computers will be able to print onthe same printer.
If you have only the USB port and you don't want to use print server, then you can connect your printer to one of your computer. Enable File and printer sharing on all the computer. If you go to microsoft.com and search for file and printer sharing, you will get steps to enable file and printer sharing.
If you want to check the wireless settings of the router, you will need to open the set up page of the router .

How do you connect a printer to this?

Basically, if it is a wireless-ready printer, what you need is match the same wireless settings that you have from your router.

On most wireless-ready printer, you need them to connect temporarily to your computer through USB connection then run the Setup CD. You will then have the option to configure the wireless settings (the same that you have on your router), then install the printer driver afterwards. You'll be prompted when to unhook the printer from your computer to make it wireless.

Printing to a network via wireless router

Usually wireless routers prohibit master browser (network neighborhood) communications from traversing between the wireless and wired computers. You can usually overcome this by setting a static ip address for the computers with the printers so that they are not a moving target (addresses are always changing with DHCP). Then you can use UNC paths to get from wireless computer to your target on internal network. For example, to connect to printer (with shared name BrotherH) on a wired computer with static ip address of 192.168.0.19, on wireless computer create a network printer and manually enter the address \\192.168.0.19\BrotherH , now the wireless computer should be able to traverse and connect to the wired printer.

Your wireless router should have a pool of static ip addresses available, say 192.168.1.1-49, you can specify this to your liking, and then you can also have a block of handed out DHCP numbers, say 192.168.50-60 or whatever.

Set up 2 wireless routers, 1st for printer, 2nd for internet

You should only need one wireless router for everything. The purpose of the router is to "route" multiple devices together. Your set-up should be something like this:

Modem connected to wireless router via Ethernet cable.
Wireless router broadcasting wireless internet connection.
Computer(s) connected to wireless router via cable or wireless adapter.
Computer with network printer sharing enabled.
Turn on wireless printer.
You should be able to detect the printer via Windows.
