SOURCE: philips dvd player not working

Im sorry to tell ya that you did all the things I would have suggested, so it sounds like a system control problem or a power supply problem, and if its a good machine then maybe its worth you having a service person look at it?? Most dvd units are not worth it these days, unless there combos or recorders.. Sorry couldnt be of more help.

SOURCE: DVD player froze, now only turns off

Sounds like the power supply in the dvd player has failed. It works just well enough to turn on the led infront but as soon as you go to do anything it shuts off. This is common in cheaper dvd players. Unless you can troubleshoot electronics. Or know someone that can. Your best bet is to unplug the unit and disassemly and retrieve your dvd.

SOURCE: DVDR3570h is stuck in standby, cannot turn on

I had this problem, it was solved by reformatting the hard-drive.

NOTE: if you do this, all settings and all that is saved on the harddrive is lost. But seeing that you can't start it anyway, that is acceptable, right? :)

Anyway, here's how you do it, according to Philips support:

  1. Pull out the power cord from the socket.
  2. Press and hold PREV and STOP (i.e. left and down) on the front panel.
  3. Plug the power cord into the socket again.
  4. Wait until the front panel says "FMT KEY" to let go of the buttons. Wait for it to finish formatting, upon which you will get "-- --" on the panel.
Restart the box and you should now end up at a screen asking you to set the language for the box, as if being started for the first time ever.

Also of note: if you want to restore the firmware to factory settings, Philips support told me to pull the cord, press and hold the STANDBY button, and plug it back in again. For the looping problem though, I didn't need that.

I have plugged my new HCHKAW08 into my PC, but I am getting no sound at all? Any help would be really well received.

As it is a 5.1 Speaker set, I assume there are lots of inputs to choose from. (like AUX, CD, DVD-player whatev). They are most likely RCA plugs (red and white)

- Check that the set is actually powered on. Some sets will have a red light for standby, and green for power-on. you might think it's on while it's only standby

- Select source. If the set has multiple inputs, you have to select one of them. If you plug your PC to AUX, select AUX on the front panel, or there will be no sound at all.

- Check the cable. Cheap RCA cables tend to die.

hope that helps.

Havin problem with a1200 class a/b amp it ligts green and red at same time after hooking in remote how doi fixdo i need diagram to fix

Make sure you don't have any shorts on your speaker wires or rca cables. Unplug one at a time, the turn on power until it stays green with no protect light, then you know what input is causing the short. If you remove all speaker wires and rca wires and all you have connected is the ground, power(12volts) and remote and it still lights up red/green(in protect mode) then your problem is the amp.

Coby dvd player

do you see the laser light come on when the disk spins if not it has probably lost power or failed, if so sometimes the laser head gets moved to close to the drive mechanism and the motor cant pull it out. i have found several of these that had this problem.
