Royal hg2020mx malfunctioning bin full light

Just bought a HG2020MX Royal shredder. After shredding the first few pages (i.e., less than 10 pages) the "bin full" light came on and stayed on. I have reset the power and pulled and reinstalled the bin several times and the light still comes right back on when I turn the power back on. The paper bin is 99.9% EMPTY and the "full" light remains falsely on. The instructions which came with the shredder have zero troubleshooting information related to this level switch.

More than likely, there is a lot of paper debris jammed between the cutters and strippers. If you are handy, try the following.
Disconnect the power.
Disassemble the shredder from the lower bin to access the cutting head. Clear the head of all debris with a small screw driver or ice pick. Reassemble and oil the cutters with shredder oil, being careful not to get any oil on the optics. This should solve the sluggish problem. Oil on a regular basis, before every use.

Yes....this is a consumer model....NO BIN/BAG FULL INDICATOR....to keep costs down, you will just have to try to get the bin out a little at a time and slowly reach-in and "fish out the shredded paper...once you have enough out the bin will come out...hopefully the backed up paper has not jammed the machine and blown the PCB inside.....if it has give Royal a call at 1-800-524-0799 for parts assistance.

Shredder is running and bit groves are turning but it will not feed?


The page sensor is damaged/disabled/blocked. Time for a bottoms-up inspection to remove paper shreds. If your Royal has a removable bin, remove it and turn the shredder upside down to get to the mechanism.

My shredder just runs want shred paper cost to much to ship it to Royal company


unless it is a office size that can shred many pages and staples at once ,just junk it and get a new one
most cost less that the paper to wrap in in for transport.

Royal HG2020MX CROSSCUT SHREDDER


bin slides out the front, it does not tilt, must go out straight. there are two tabs about 1/16 inch tall on the bottom of the bin that nest when bin is in place. to release them I insert a butter knife (sharp one due to tight fit) below the silver mesh of the bin and the black plastic bottom of the shredder. directly center this will push the bin up and the frame down enough to release the tabs. then slide the unit out. helps to lay it on the back.

How do I empty a Royal PX1000MX?


You have probably got the bin so full it is stuck/jammed full of paper and you now can't remove it...this is a "consumer" model machine and to keep cost low they do not provide a "bag-full" light on the panel...you should regularly empty the bin so that the shredded paper does not totally jam the bin and in extreme cases then get caught back up into the cutting machanism and blow the pcb inside the machine...check your "users" instructions to remove the bin.
