It indicates a water temp problem. If water temp doesn't rise at a certain rate, by the heater, it goes into this error. Probably a problem with heater or wires to it.

SOURCE: Clean light keeps blinking and I can't start a new cycle

That is a comon problem with that model. It is not sensing a temperature change in the water.

Push i believe it is heated dry and sani rinse going back and fourth between the two to clear the code and see if you can get it to complete a cycle. If it doesnt call sears and schedule service there is a service flash repair that should not cost you anything to repair the unit.

SOURCE: kenmore dishwasher has stopped draining.

remove the kick panel below the door, place a pan, etc under where the drain hose connects to the drain extension tube, and slide the clamp back some so you can slide the hose off of the extension tube (white plastic tube) and drain any excess fluid into the aforementioned pan, etc., then unscrew the extension tube and check for plugs, or restrictions.
the sump may also be pluged beneath the strainer assembly, and that requires removing the lower spray arm, the water tube that runs up the inside back of the unit, and the upper parts of the assembly below them to access the drain/pump sump area.
last but not least the impeller is jamed and might be able to be freed by removing whatever has lodged within there..
ya never know...
best of luck,
ttfn

How to reset Kenmore Elite 665-16572202 Dishwasher...clean light blinks 7 times pauses then repeats. My model does not have a Heated Dry button it has an Air Dry button.

Here's the key sequence(s) to use, depending on how your keys are labeled:
Heated Dry - Normal - Heated Dry - Normal; or
High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry; or
Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry; or
High Temp Wash, Heated Dry, High Temp Wash, Heated Dry.

This will start the diagnostic cycle. Let the dishwasher run for a few minutes, and then press Cancel to stop the dioagnostic cycle and clear the error. Please note, that this clears the error, but if you haven't found the cause (water-not-heating error), the condition will come right back the next time you run the dishwasher.

It sounds like you just need to reset the controller. This is done by running (or partially running) a diagnostic cycle, which will clear the error. Here's how to do it: Depending on the model, and the keys you have, press the following sequence of keys quickly (with less that 1 second between key presses:
Heated Dry - Normal - Heated Dry - Normal; or
High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry; or
Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry; or
High Temp Wash, Heated Dry, High Temp Wash, Heated Dry.
You will know that you have entered the diagnostic cycle when all the lights light up. Let it run for a few minutes, and then press Cancel to stop the diagnostic cycle and clear the error.

Note: On some of the newer Whirlpool, Kenmore, KitchenAid dishwashers, you start the diagnostic cycle by rapidly pressing the 3 left-most keys in the following sequence: 1 2 3, 1 2 3, 1 2 3.

I have a kenmore ultra 665 1627. The green front panel light blinks. And we can not run a cycle. Thanks

Ah, the famous (or infamous) Clean-light blinking problem. Watch that blinking light.... Does it blink 7 times, pauses, and repeats? Or does it blink 3 times (or some other number). The most common problem is 7 blinks which means "water not heating error". This could be caused by a bad heating element, a bad thermal cutoff, a bad controller; but the most common problem is that 1 of the 2 switches inside the door latch is not getting engaged fully. This may be caused by something getting spilled (like a soda) into the door latch that is making it stick, or the door strike may be weak and not pressing down on the door latch hard enough. If it's the latch, you would need to take the door apart and remove the latch mechanism (unplug the dishwasher first!), remove the switches, and clean the plastic parts with water, dry it, and then re-assemble. The other thing to check is the door strike, which is supposed to push down the latch. The springiness of this metal part may be weak. You can remove that door strike, bend it down more, and then re-install it. Then you need to reset the controller by running a diagnostic cycle. Do that by pressing the following sequence of keys: Heated Dry - Normal - Heated Dry - Normal; or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry; or Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry; or High Temp Wash, Heated Dry, High Temp Wash, Heated Dry). You will know that you have entered the diagnostic cycle when all the lights light up for a few seconds. Ah, the famous (or infamous) Clean-light blinking problem. Watch that blinking light.... You say it blinks 7 times, pauses, and repeats, right? Well, 7 blinks which means "water not heating error". Blinking clean light, will drain with cancel button, wont wash

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If the clean light flashes, pauses, and then repeats. When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash

-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Clean light stays on and will not run on our Kenmore 665 dishwasher.

if you have a whirlpool/ kenmore dishwasher and the clean light is flashing 7 times then pauses and then repeats, it is a problem with the heating circuit.
follow this keypad operation: push the high temp wash, air dry, high temp wash, air dry. this will put the unit into a service mode and it will run a short diagnosis cycle. after it gets done, about 5-7 minutes, then it will reset and allow you to use the unit again.
make sure the water is hot enough at your faucet at least 120 degrees, and the door is getting closed tight.

Kenmore dishwasher, model 665.170 344 01. "Clean" light keeps flashing and will not stop. Have tried everything in the manual and the light still will not stop flashing.

...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.

If the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit (ie. element, thermostat or wiring). It rarely happens but it could also be the door switch not engaging properly when the door is closed (slightly bend the door latch down making sure it doesn't hit the door when you close it).

Puppa, clear the fault by pressing the keys in this order: high temp scrb--air dry--high temp scrub--air dry. Or, depending on your model..Sani rinse--air dry--sani rinse--air dry. The dishwasher will enter the service mode. Let it do it's thing or advance it through it by pressing the start key. The fault came from the board not sensing a rise in the water temp. Make sure to run the hot water before starting the dishwasher. The heating element runs through the nuetral side of the door switch so make sure the d/w is level and the door switches are all making. The element itself could be at fault. Catriver...post back
