Contact the person that sold it to you and ask them about replacing it, or if they know how to fix it. you can also take it into an apple store i did it with my ipod and they took a look at it for free they can tell you if there is a replacement part for it and how much it is to replace or fix.

By replacing the screen you have to connect 3 ribbon cables. One of them is the digitiser (touch panel) and most likely this connection isn't good. Usually i check this while the iPad is still open.

Replacing colorwheel on an InFocus X1A, X2, X3, and SP4805

to replace the colorwheel:

remove the 4 brass and 4 silver screws from the bottom and the 2 silver screws from the back. through the top vent on the back panel and using a flat head screwdriver, unclip the 3 clips holding the back panel on. once removed, unplug the 2 wire harnesses. remove the top and front panel. now unplug the large wire harness and remove all the brass screws on the 2 power supply boards (also the screw for the ground wire). there is a black clip in the middle of the larger power board. remove the boards. now remove the brass screws holding the metal plate on. once removed, unplug the flat ribbon cable (for the colorwheel). now facing the front end, remove the lamp and the 4 screws holding the lamp housing (with fans) on to the bottom case. remove the tiny black screw on the small circuit board and remove the board. now you can get to the colorwheel. there are 2 small black screws holding the bracket. pull the ribbon cable through from under the fan. replace with new colorwheel and reverse the instructions. the only difference, remove the front panel from the top by undoing the clips. good luck!

Disassembly nuvi

The clips are part of the connector and can not be purchased separately, however it is possible to remove a clip from another connector and install it on the connector with the missing clip. It takes a steady hand and there is a trick to get it on. We've done it many times in our repairs for our customers.

My Nuvi 760 boots to the calibrate screen page. When I touch the dots as requested it wont respond. Then I am unable to get past this page. I have tried a hard reset, power on , power off, even removed and...

The best clue you gave is that you removed and replaced the battery. When you did that, I'm guessing that you accidentally disconnected one of the three ribbons that connect the touch screen to the circuit board. (It's very easy to do that.) Solution: disassemble the case again and inspect the ribbons. Each should be attached to the circuit board by a thin black spring clip. If you find one is not connected, use the plastic case-separator tool to carefully lift the black clip, slide the ribbon under it, and re-close the black clip to hold the ribbon in place. Here's a page with instructions and photos:

There is a big black verticle line on the screen

vertical lines in general are caused by the data boards (buttom of screen) theres a left one and right one these boards are atached by ribbon cables going to the logic board .first all ribbon cables must be checked and reconnected to make sure there well seated ,also pass compressed air ( can ) , if this dose not solve problem try slightlypressing on the connecters replace defective board , on many lg tvs the connecter on the logic board is defective slightly pressing solves problem ,if this does not work you have two choices the data board thats on the same side of the line is defective you may try to clean the brown flex connecters that plug to the data board these connecters are not easy to reconnect be delicat and patient !!!if data board does not solve replace logic board !

I changed the caseing my self and when i put it ack together both screens are really light and its hard to see the picture and the bottom touch screen wont work

You need to make sure the ribbons are pushed in all the way.The bottom touch screen has a very small ribbon that is Grey black color that has to be connected to the logic board this might have come out in the process.Try a new battery for the screens light.

Keypad ribbon issues

I just happened to post a procedure to clean these ribbon connections recently on our website. If you look at the first photo in the "PROCEDURE" section you will see two small locking tabs on each end of the clip. Make sure you have released these before you insert the ribbon. After you push in the ribbon, push the tabs back in to lock it.

While your at it, you probably want to clean up the contacts as described.

1g itouch. i dropped it today at a weird angle ind smashed in the black area on the back for the wifi. wifi stopped working. opened it up and the ribbon connecting the antenna to the main board is sheared...

I would try and find a new ribbon to tie it in with. You also want to make sure that there is not other wires that are shorting out. That is all I can think of.

How do you open DVD Player? DRC630N-M

I've successfully opened the case and re-attached the ribbon cable and now have a working dvd player (DRC630-N).

Once the screws are removed, you will want focus on separating the case at two clip locations on the bottom of the player, centered approximately 1 1/4 inches to either side of the brass threaded insert on the bottom.

You can see one of them broke for me when I was trying to get it open. If you apply some pressure under those clips you may have more success avoiding any clip breaking. I'm not worried about it since with all the screws it is plenty secure. What I did to get it open at these clips was insert a small flat screwdriver head in the small gap (seam) at the clip locations and twist. It did gouge the plastic a bit, but worked well enough. Once this side opens up you should be careful about separating the unit along the side with all the plugs. It took a bit of easing around the volume wheel and a couple plugs to get it fully apart. The opposite end of the player from the clips will come apart once the clips have been released as it is on a separable hinge.

Here is the ribbon cable detached from the circuit board.

The ribbon cable (blue part) slides into the black and white connector. Make sure the black part is pulled slightly away from the white part when you are sliding in the cable. Once the cable is in as far as it will go then slide the black part of the connector until it is flush against the white part. This secures the ribbon cable in place.

Here is a picture with the ribbon cable slid all the way into the connector and but still unsecured:

Now here is a picture with the black part pushed tight with the white part of the connector:

Here is how it looked when I closed the case back up:

Good luck. Hopefully this helps.
