Question about Dell Dimension 2350 PC Desktop

1 Answer

I accidently turned off my power strip while my dell b110 was running. When I tried to turn it back on everything sounded fine for 2 seconds, then the fans shut down and there was a steady green light and a flashing amber light on the front panel. So I unplugged it opened the side panel and unseated and reseated some of the componets. Then tried to reboot, this time all the fans came on, but the hard drive and cdrw still weren't responding (so windows xp isn't booting either) and the blinking amber light is now steady, as is the green light. This should be simple, what else can I try?? Thanks

SOURCE: Windows XP won't start

The amber light is the error light on a Dell. It can mean a few things. 1. RAM has went bad, not properly seated. 2. Video card has went bad or come unseated. 3. Power supply is not working properly; or 4. Motherboard has went bad. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer.

My dell dimension computer won't turn on. When I push in the button, it only flashes orange and then won't turn on.

Plug the computer into a power strip that has an on/off switch. Turn the power strip on. Press the computer power on button to start as normal, but after after one second turn off the power strip switch just long enough for the fans on the computer to slow down, but the amber computer led doesn't turn off and then turn the power strip switch back on. Computer should start and run fine. Computer typically can be shut down for up to 5 minutes and restarted normally--any longer and you have to sue the power strip power switch routine again

Dell Dimension B110 will not power on when front button is pushed. Plugged it into another outlet without using power strip....still didn't start...purchased New power supply and installed still nothing...

check the bezel/power button
try to open the tower but you have to make sure that its unplugged/ after unplugging the power cable press the power button for about 5 secs to drain the flea power then check the power button maybe its broken or the cable connected to the power button to the main board is damaged or loose.

M1991 screen stays black, little light is yellow

The fault is a back-light problem and the fault could be a faulty inverter board or a faulty CCFL lamp.

My ps3 will not turn on. it tries but then the light just starts blinking red. it was working fine last night though

It sounds like a power cycle is needed. If you are using a power strip, please turn off the PS3 and then the strip. Count to 30. After 30 seconds turn the strip back on, followed by turning the PS3 on.

Hopefully that will solve your issue. Hope this helps and have a great day!

I need to hook speakers up to my Dell B110 computer.

2 things are needed to get sound from your speakers:

1-wiring connecting your speakers to a socket to the back of the computer. (The spot they need to plug in to ON YOUR COMPUTER is a small light green circular socket. The other end of the plug you plug in here should run to one of your speakers *usually the right side speaker-the right speaker should then have separate wiring to connect the left speaker.)

2- A source of power.
Some speakers use their own power source and plug in to a power outlet - your wall. Other types have a USB type plug and plug into a USB port in your computer and that is how THOSE get their power.

Those are the basics of sound setup. Some computers are equipped with more complicated setups such as surround sound, subwoofers, digital and more. Reply if you need more help, I will try to assist you further.

Hope this helps.

Dell b110 when I try to turn it on the light blinks consistently yellow

Try a different power supply in the computer if you can. Get a known working one cause its possible that your current power supply isn't putting out the right voltages.

If you try another power supply and you still keep getting the blinking yellow light then that means the motherboard is bad.

Mouse and keyboard suddenly stopped working on Dell b110 desktop

Disconnect external peripherials except keyboard and mouse .Disconnect the power cable.Hold the power button for 10 seconds to drain flea power.Reconnect the power cable and turn on the computer When the blue DELL™ logo appears, press immediately. In bios there is option for Function key F9 or F10 probably to reset to defaults.SAve and exit and restart the system .Then try to use the PC restore feature on dell. check http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim1100/en/SM/syssetup.htm#wp1055545

Good Luck.

BLANK SCREEN???

This new system I'm using has done something similar on a few occasions. I only had to disconnect/reconnect the plug from the back of my monitor and did the same with the Vdo card plug and everything was fine. That hasn't happened again since I put a different power cord on it.
