HP dx6100 making beeping noise

on most computer systems the beeps are codes so you need to listen short and long beeps something like mores code

the codes are different by manufacturer

if you haven't played inside at all chances are it is your video display do you get a post screen or any screen??

if you do when you reboot hit esc or F8 to get into cmos this is the brain of your motherboard
there will be an area that says set default settings
usually a choice for perfomance or stability
arrow down to stability hit enter
hit F10 to save --- yes

this has reset your system to basic operations with all motherboard parts working
let reboot happen if beeps continue
count types and numbers then search web for beep codes on computer some are standard some are not hp support may have this problem on their help files if it is common
