Is it possible to bypass the heater control vale on a 1990 BMW 325i, as in running more direct heater hoses?

I believe this is what is causing my heater not to work on my BMW, as the car runs at normal temperature, gets good circulation but does not get heat inside the car but a very VERY minimal amount. I am new to this type of control vale having dealt with domestic cars, and by what I am understanding this particular valve can divert the fluid away from the heater core if stuck in a position because of the 3 lines running to it. Would love to just by pass this valve and run it more this possible?

when the car is running, there is enough air to cool the radiator, however, when when the AC kick on, the radiator absorb more of the heat from the AC coil. there by require more cooling. the 2 fan are there for that purpose.
as far as the smell of antifreeze, you nee to check all of the cooling hoses, in the engine compartment and under the dash. sound like there is a small leak some place.

SOURCE: temp guage showing hot, not getting any heat for 1992 Mercury Cap

If the hoses to and from the heater core are hot , and you say the heater core is hot , then the only answer is that the air duct that flows into or out of the heater core plenum ( housing ) is not opening.
Heater control on dash borad inoperative.
Not sure about 92 capri , some cars have a cable linkage , some work on vacume motors.
Try to find a haynes manual for your car , they will walk you through almost every step of anything you may ever want to do to your car.

You seem to know what you are doing , but I gotta ask ........the heater core you felt was up behind the dash inside the passenger compartment of the car right ?

Probably not water pump. Engine is notourious for vapour lock.
Cooling system must be blead of air before thermostat will work. Cool bottom rad hose is a dead give away. If you are still watching this forum reply , and I will walk you through the only way I know how to make it work properly. It's actually easy if you do it my way. I have worked on lots of cars , and this engine was the hardest to bleed out. Did one Yesterday , and works perfect.

Make sure the blower runs, then make sure the heat and ventilation control doors move as they should. If you have hot coolant flowing through the heater core, air flow through the core, and appropriate air flow path, then you will have heat.

1989 bmw 325i heater core removal im at the heater core already. need to know how to get it out

Some heater cores come in a plastic case. If yours does, you have to remove it as a set. Disconnect hoses from inside the engine compartment and remove all hardware that holds it in place. Once free to remove, careful not to spill antifreeze inside your car.

1994 bmw 325i auto at idle rpm go up and down

A lot of older automatic BMW's do this, If you restrict the idle air valve with a hose clamp it will stop. As for making the "repair" I have tested and tried all things related with that bypass and over the last 4 years have yet to find out why.

it may be possible that your heater core was faulty and some has by passed it. open hood and check for incoming and outgoing heater hoses into firewall(dash of car). it is also possible that the heater core is plugged, try getting your cooling system flushed
