Joeysmoke, find technician you can trust privately, and let him fix at home, tell him to concentrate on the power board of the tv.

According to the tech manual I looked at, it's a bad board - it just doesn't say which board. Sorry. Looks like it's making a trip to the shop.

Good luck.

My sony projection tv model kp-53hs30power button keeps flashing and wont turn on! Why is it doing this?

The standby/power switch should be flashing in a repeatec count. Please post that count. It is an internal diagnostic that will tell us the problem with the set and thus the actions required to repair it.

Sony kp-46wt520 rear projection tv: standby light flashes

Two things here.

1) This is a CRT based set so there is no "lamp" involved.
2) The standby light should be blinking a repeated count of blinks with a 2 second pause between counts. Please report the exact count here. This will indicate the circiut in which a problem was detected.

With the above information, we can provide you with a more detailed description of the problem as well as the likely solutions and cost.

The standby/timer is flashing 6 times on my Sony KP-53HS30 TV

no the 6 blinks indicates a missing voltage. If your talking about a sony lcd KD or KE model you probably have a bad thermal fuse. You must also clean or change the Lamp fan so it won't blow again.

Sony KP-53HS30 53 in. Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

That code means that the +5 line is either overloaded or shorted on the A or B board. It may be worth repairing if the shop is an authorized Sony repair shop as they will have access to the Sony TSS logs and should be able to repair it without much trouble.

No Power, standby light blinking, power cord in/out two quick clicks

sounds to me to be a shorted HOT transistor or short somewhere. the click sound is the switch mode power suppy powering up sensing a short and quickly shuts down. the hot transitor is mounted to a heatsink near your flyback. check for emitter to collector short. you can try replacing it if shorted and if lucky that all that was ..but if shorts again you looking at probably a bad flyback. good luck

Troubleshoot-5 blinks red light front of TV

TURN TIMER OFF. GO TO SONY.COM, TROUBLESHOOTING, OR The STANDBY light is flashing on the television and there is no picture or sound. Solution
sp.gif sp.gif The STANDBY light will flash if an issue is detected within the television. This can sometimes be resolved by simply following the steps below to reset the television.
  1. Turn off the television. IMPORTANT: For a projection television that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.
  2. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
  5. Turn on the television.
If the issue is still unresolved after following all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required. Please note the number of times the STANDBY light flashes and relay that information to the service center.
