My PS2 will read that there is a game there but will not play. I was trying to mod it the other day with a Duo 2 GT modchip, unfortunately the screen just went blank and would not display jack. Anyway, i decide to remove the modchip and reassemble it. It boots up just fine. So, i then decide to try a PS2 game just to make sure. Apparently, the good news is it reads the PS2 game but when i press X to load it up; it fades to black then returns me back to the PS2 browser. What do u think could be the problem? Anyone, Plz HELP!!!
I think i have a sali..salute...anser(i can not typ today srry) the this sorta hapend to me but i had anuther ps2 so i put the broken 1 away for a wile and then a bout a month later it started working again so its working to hard u need to stop useing your ps2 and let it cool down not

you need to have a modded ps2 to play pirated movies which are not official copies if you are using an original dvd copy then try keeping a weight say a small mobile charger or a small book on the ps2 if you are using the slim ps2
sorry buddy you cant unlock a ps2 to play pirated games. but depending on what kind of ps2 you have you can modify it to play your copied games if it is a fat ps2 you will need to buy a modchip for it or if you have a slim ps2 like mine all you have to do is order some swap magic discs at modchip.ca or .com then modify your slime line with a fliptop cover or the cheap free way is to use the tape and tissue mod that i use( just google tape and tissue mod) i play all my copied games and they work just fine. you can even play the classics such as sega genesis or supernes. afterdawn.com is an awsome website for all your ps2 modding needs it has all the guides from burning games to modding your ps2
^^ hoped tht helps
Hi, these are reasons or problems that can affect ps2 color.
Its the model games your downloading. the unloaded didn't upload it right. The problem would have to be your PS2. When you modded it, the PS2 must have had something changed in it. That thing that you changed may not allow it to read the color on certain PS2 games. You either have to buy a new PS2, or figure out what you did wrong when you modded it.
its something with the chip u used... i did the same thing and replaced it and im working fine now... u should think about getting magic swap... requires no modding to play station and i hear from people that it works well
The thing in the back that hooks up to the back of the tv or cable connection needs to be changed
This may sound stupid and completely obvious, but mine occasionally play without color as well. Try jiggling the RGB cable from the back of the console.
because its the way they made them the only difference is the type of film they use other tha that game play is still the same
go to game stop or a game shop 4 them to fix or it might be that your psp had been dropped or something that happened to it .
Your system needs a mod chip to play games on a disc that was not created by Sony.
Most ps2 games are DVD's only some are cd's.. All of the ps1 games are cd's so if you burnt it onto a dvd its not going to work.
In order to play copied games, you will first have to mod your PS2. To avoid piracy, much of the necessary info on the original disc will be omitted during the copy phase. When you "mod" or put in a new chip, The PS2 can now bi-pass this info and continue to the game. Regardless of the type of PS2 you have, you must put in a mod chip to read back-ups.
That is strange how the boot-up sequence can change. When You bought it, it sounds like it got mod-chipped when you bought it. if are one on the techy side of life then you can open your ps2 and look for one (google mod chip). Also the chance of one being there is higher because it can play copied games. Even though you bought it with the copied games, 1) copied games are illegal, and , 2) PS2's shouldn't be able to play copied games cause it wasn.t designed too.
If this is a rental copy the most likely answer is simply that the disk is scratched or damaged to the point that your PS2 can't read it.
With rental games you also need to double check that store staff placed the correct disk in the box, have a look at the disk an ensure it is not an XBox copy.
This message would normally suggest however that the copy you have is not from the same region as you're PS2, if you have a US PS2 it will only play US PS2 games, if you have a UK PS2 it will only play UK PS2 games Etc. you cannot play UK games on a US PS2 and vice versa unless your PS2 is fitted with a 'mod chip' and you will usually require a 'swap disk' as well.
**be sure you understand the copyright issues involved if you decide to pursue this**
Another possibility is that it is a DVD R, not a legitimate disk, without a 'mod chip' your PS2 will not read games written to DVD R/RW (and doing so is most definitely illegal regardless what those to cheap to pay for there games will tell you about "backups").
