What do you mean by operator? If you mean remote control panel and wall mounted hard wired panel, the answer is yes. And yes, if I disconnect the trolley, it works manually. I can open the door thru the wall mounted panel one push at a time, until the door is fully opened. Otherwise, it will only open partially, for each push of the button. My garrage door opener is a Chamberlain Liftmaster Professional 1/2 HP with part No. 41A5389-1D.

    Thanks for your concern.

    Dear Guru,

Your solution is perfect. I turned the 2 screws clockwise: from 6 o'clock position to 7 o'clock, Left hand screw ; while the other one from 5 o'clock to 6 o'clock position, Right hand screw. I appreciate it very much.

If the door runs fine then check the up force and down force on your operator (the box that hangs from the ceiling). If the light(s) on your operator go from front and/or back, the force adjustment screw is on the back of the operator. If the lights are on the sides of the operator then the force adjustment screw is on the right side (looking from the back of the operator and facing the garage door). Turn the light blue adjustment screw with the up/down arrow to a higher number.

I have Craftsman 1/2 hp Door Opener(2005) screw drive. When opening the door pully connected to the screw drive gets to about 18 inches from operator and stops leaving the door only 3/4 open. I have adjusted both the up and down screws on the operator to no avail. Interesting though, about 1 in 10 attempted openings, the door opens all the way.

SOURCE: My garrage door is closed. The remote is not

If you have no way to enter the garage but through the large door you will need to call a technician. They will drill a hole through the door and then use a tool to reach the manual release. They can also install a keyed manual release so you don't have this problem again.

SOURCE: garrage door opener ability to close the garrage door

HOLDING DOWN THE WALL BUTTON OVERRIDES THE SAFETY EYES.
WHEN HOLDING IT DOWN MAKES THE DOOR CLOSE PROPERLY THE PROBLEM IS IN THE SAFETY EYES.

ARE BOTH LEDS ON? - CHECK FOR A LOOSE OR BROKEN WIRE.
ARE THE EYES WIRED CORRECTLY?
ARE THEY AIMED AT EACH OTHER?

My Liftmaster garage door won't open or close. I hit the button and it make a sound and clicks but won't close

Remove the cover and check the drive gear. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor. It will be obvious if it is bad. Tell me - if it won't open how do you know it won't close?

Sounds like your door may be binding. Release the opener from the door and operate it by hand. It should move freely. It should also stay in place when you release it at about waist level.

Our garrage door won't close. There is nothing in the path. It was working smoothly until 1/2 hour ago, and now it won't close. Please help !!!

If the main light flashes 10 times when you try to close the door it is a door sensor problem. Make sure the small light on each of them is lit and not flickering ever so slightly. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have either bad wiring or a bad sensors.

If the main light doesnt flash 10 times you probably have a bad RPM sensor which is a small printed circuit board just in front of the motor.

Be sure to try increasing the down force also. The control is on the rear of your motor unit near where all those white wires go.

My remote intermittenly opens/closes the garage door

You can find a free manual for your door opener at manualsonline .com You might want to look at how to program it and change the unit to a different frequency. You can sometimes get better response and eliminate interference. Also make sure your battery contacts in the remote are clean.
