Question about HP Pavilion dv4-1145go Notebook
The power adapter is good but when I plug it into the laptop there are no signs of power
On the DV4 that I'm working on, multiple known good chargers were tried and multiple batteries were tried. The laptop would not charge the batteries. Unlike other laptops this one will not work if the battery is removed on AC power.
I have replaced the DC Jack where the power cable plugs in. I believe this problem is with the mosfet on the motherboard as described in this thread.
Here are some pictures of the component on my motherboard.
Specific Chipset surrounded in a yellow box
To be clear this is not the DC Jack where you plug in the cable from your charger. It's the other end of the wire inside the laptop below the battery if the battery is at the top.
I wish I knew more about electrics to repair this. The vietnemese poster suggested connecting the soldier pads, but I do not know if he meant to combine 1,2,3 and 5,6,7,8 or if he meant to connect 1 to 5 and 2, to 6, etc.
I believe this is the component diagram
