When I turn my monitor

when I turn my monitor on, the LED light at the bottom blinks off and on, but there is no display. I keep turning the switch off and on and finally the screen begins to display. I have a warranty, but can't find it and Staples (where I bought it) said they can only go back a year on my card. Is this just a switch problem or is there anything I can do?

It sounds like bad backlight fluorescent bulbs.
