SOURCE: door handle is loose
If my memory serves me correctly, you should see two posts attached to the refrigerator door right now. The handle slips over these posts and if you look closely there is a little hole in the handle where you would insert a allen key wrench to tighten the little screw against the post protruding from the door itself. With the door handle in your hand, properly match up the correct allen wrench to fit the allen screw very snug. Realign the door handle on the protrucing posts and tighten. Once finished, you should have a tight fitting door handle again. Let us know if we can help further.....Eric

Hi: That's sears for you; They promise prompt service on emergency refrigeration. I'ts one of three things. Your defrost heater is out, your defrost timer is out, your freezer is so full of food you blocked the vents to the fresh food. I mentioned these in the most likely order. If you are not handy just empty the freezer and take a hair dryer to the back (being careful to avoid the plastic components) to melt the frost behind the wall that is blocking the air vents to the fresh food compartment. If you are handy look at your parts list or the breakdown at sears.com and find the heater. It will be behind the freezer wall at the bottom. See how it is removed and check it. It will be a glass tube with a metal coil in it. If it is broken it is bad and replace it. If it is ok look for the defrost heater and see where it is located. then replace it. Of course check to see if your food has blocked the vents first. I hope this helps, Jeff

This error code has something to do with a defrost sensor and happened after an extended power outage. I unplugged the refrig and it reset itself!

It appears your damper door or solenoid has failed in this instance.
For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...
FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.
PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.
If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.
Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question
