a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

SOURCE: Need to know about this generator will not power my home

Jo_jet, this should power most everything except A/C or heat. Most regular sized homes do not fun more than that constantly.

Coleman Powermate 6750

You will need to check the resisitance of the stator and rotor windings, and also each rotor/ring to ground (IE rotor shaft) All tests to ground should be 0 M ohms, stators vary but typically around 1ohm or so, and rotors approx 20-30ohms

I need to parallel my windings on a coleman powermate

You cannot parallel the windings, I assume it is a 240V system and you are attempting to do this to achieve more current at 120V you cannot do these and will damage the unit, the pitch of the stator windings are to achive out of phase 240V

How to test stator

You will need a very high quality ohm meter that can account for test lead resisitance. Stator wire leads are ohmed right off the stator and their value is generally low 0.8 or less ohms (each generator model and windings is different) and needs comparing with a specific model factory service manual. Temperatore also affects this reading. Often best left to a pro with a low impedendance meter or a device called a wheatstone bridge, as the resistance is often too low to see on a conventional meter

Model pm0525312.18 serial 914080230 engine runs good but the voltage drops of from about 125volts to 90 volts when you put on about 1500 watts. does this model have a voltage regulator? what is a bridge...

According to the parts pdf, there is no voltage regulator. Voltage is adjusted by the rpm of the engine. If your have a meter that reads hertz (Hz), you can set the engine rpm by adjusting hertz to 60 cycles (Hz). At 60 cycles the engine is running at about 3600 rpm. Most engines develop their max horsepower at this rpm. If you are loosing power/voltage and the engine speed is not dropping below 3600, than most likely could be problem with capacitor, brushes or diode (bridge diode). The diode converts ac voltage from stator to direct current to power the magnet (rotor). Check for brush wear and test capacitor for value printed on part. It should test with 5% of stated value. Diode can also be easily tested with meter. Good holidays

Coleman Generator not Making Power

actually, it sounds like the diodes are blown. Check our diodes.

As for checking stator, find the two wires, typically labeled L1 and L2 that are going to it. Measure with a multimeter. If there is no visual signs of damage, continuity can indicate a good stator. You should not have continuity between either wire and the stator frame.

The same goes for the rotor as well. The resistance measurements will not be the same for each one though.

Unfortunately, Powermate is out of business, and service information is scarce.

Coleman 5500 watt output unbalanced

Get on their website and get the wiring diagrams. They should also have the resistances of the windings. Checking these resistances, may indicate a stator problem. Give the model number and it will be easier to help.
