Question about Kirby Ultimate G Bagged Upright Vacuum

1 Answer

Blows My Kirby is blowing instead of sucking when we try to vacuum. I thought it was only supposed to do this when you take the bag off and use different attachments on it, but it is all put together like normal and we haven't used it to blow anything up for quite a while. It was working fine until recently when it started to blow dirt out. I took it apart this morning and cleaned out all of the dirt that was clogging everywhere from all of the blowing, but it still isn't working properly. I can't find my manual and I can't find a "switch" anywhere to change it. Can you help?

Re: Blows

Check all airways ,it is clogged somewhere. 1 take off the emptor 2check the flexable fill tube in side the bag 3 look inside the casting where u took the emptor off 4 run the machine without paper bag - there should be a free flow of air-LOTTS-u need the emptor back on to do this-keep your face away incase something comes rushing out Cheers Phil C

It is most likely the belt. You cannot reverse the suction. First check to see if the bag is expanding when running. If the bag is blowing up then it is the belt if not it is clogged just take the bag off from the vacuum and remove the head you will see the obstruction.

Cleaning a drain using kirby

first can it pick up water if so you put take the hose on suction and wrapp a rag around the end so you get full suction in the drain and turn it on.if not hook the hose up so it blows instead of sucks,do the same thing with a rag around the end of the hose and seal the hose in the drain, then turn it on.if you have a shop vac that will work better

Kirby blowing out aire

Unplug the vacuum and clean out the hose that goes from the beater to the intake. The hose is either plugged with debis or has become disconnected or BOTH. You may have to use a screw driver to remove the plate over the beater brush.
