Question about SanDisk Sansa e200 MP3 Player

1 Answer

My mp3 player keeps freezing on "refresh database"

Every time I turn my mp3 player on or plug it into the computer, it freezes at a certain point in the "refresh database" mode. Because the player never fully boots up, I cannot access the songs on it and therefore cannot delete things if something is causing a problem. Is there a way to restart it? What can I do? My device is only a year old, and I am disappointed in its quick failure. Thank you for your help!

What I would recommend you to do is to format the device...Keep in mind that formatting the device will delete everything you have in that device....if that doesnt work...go to the sandisk website and download a firmware upgrade for your device...I am sure that will take care of the problem you are having...
Thank you

Refresh database freezes

Try updating the firmware of your player. Switch the player to recovery mode (enable hold switch and press and hold the record and power button until you see on the screen welcome to recovery mode) download the sansa firmware updater on the sandisk website and install it to your computer. When it ask to connect the device connect the player and check if there are updates on the player. Also try to format the player it may be the songs on the player is causing the problem.

Im so frustrated!

Try the format command from windows media player when connected in MTP mode. It would clean up all music files and refresh the database. One other thing you sould know. when it your player freezes as it can happen sometimes, keep your finder pressed on the menu button for 15 second as it will force the player to turn off. If you need the manual you can get it from sandisk site in pdf format. Good luck. Mo
