Question about NEC MultiSpin ND-1100A (ND-1100A) DVD+RW Burner

More Error Codes

After following the previous advice of unstalling Roxio & VSO and reinstalling VSO not working, I uninstalled the Drive and rebooted and now am getting 2 more error codes here are all 3 that I get: 1. Write Error at 352 (16) 04 08 03 [HW Error Logical Unit Communication CRC Error in Ultra DMA/32 Check cables 2. 6 / 29 / 03 BUS DEVICE RESET FUNCTION OCCURRED 3. Lens Dirty I have easily burned over 1500 DVDs on this drive over the past 2 years along with many Data & Audio CDs. Also, lately the discs have seemed a lot hotter than usual when they eject after burning. Is it just time to put this drive out to pasture? Or, are these symptoms of something else going on in my system? Any ideas on a good replacement drive if needed that not too expensive? Thanks for all of your time and effort!

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error when starting Roxio creator

Hi.

I have had several questions from users getting Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library errors when starting Roxio Creator 2010 and previous versions.
After the error prompt, the software will close down.

The problem is caused by a system error , and this sometimes is causedby Microsoft self installing update, that confuse settings of installedsoftware.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Libraries are part of the operativesystem, and this kind of Run time errors are commonly caused whenapplications try to access resources that are allocated for otherprocesses.

A new Roxio installation did not fix the problem, because the newinstallation will still keep the registry settings from oldinstallation.

If the problem started recently you can try the following:

Uninstall Roxio.
Do a System Restore to a date before the problem started.
Reinstall Roxio.

See: How to install System restore.

If that does not fix the problem you can also try the following;

Uninstall Roxio
Create a new user with administrator privileges
Log in using the New User account
Install Roxio again.

If the problem was bound to local user settings, this will fix the problem.

If the problem is still there, then the most efficient way to proceedis by doing a new Windows installation, using a Windows setup disk or arecovery disk for your computer.
Do a full backup of your data before reinstalling Windows.

See:Install, reinstall, or uninstall Windows

The solution does not apply only to Roxio, but can fix the same problem on different software.

Regards.

In Roxio Creator 2010 slideshow won't open..complaining " Certificate file is missing or has been corrupted". Reinstaling does not help

Hi.

Check that the date on your computer is correct. Certificates are checked on an online microsoft database. If your computer has date Jan.2001, you get the certificate error.

If that was not the problem, then try the following:

Go to Control pane, switch it to classic view.
Open Control Panel ->Appearance and Personalization->Folder Options->View , then click on "Show Hidden files and folders" and Apply or OK
Go to : c:\Program Data
Delete folder called Roxio & Sonic
Try starting Roxio Creator.

If still no luck , do a system restore to a date that is one or two days before you tried to install Roxio.
After system restore, log in from account with administrator privileges, and reinstall Roxio.
When you reinstall Roxio, instead of double clicking on installer file, try clicking right mouse button on setup file and choose "Run as Administrator" from dropdown menu.
Allow all requests to allow system changes when asked.

Regards.

I purchased a Dell Computer back in 2004 which came with Sonic Digital Media Plus v7. My PC has Windows XP Operating System. A few days ago I decided to install Version 6.0 of Roxios Easy CD/DVD Burning...

Try uninstalling Roxio and the Sonic drives and run Fixit. Then reboot and install Roxio first then the Sonic driver.
If this doesn't work uninstall again as previously, install Roxio and check the CD/DVD if necessary run Fixit then install Sonic driver.

This aint a solution but theres a forum out there with guys having same problem as that of yours. Also there is a suggestion given there that you first copy the disc contents and then uninstall the previous files, clean the registry using any free cleaner and reinstall from the copied setup. Try this.It may work. http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=42410

Roxio Creator LE Dell Edition - Purchased and installed on February 17, 2008

Your program is making conflict to operating system, its trying to read some thing with invalid memory address. This may be due to curreption of your application.

If thats the case with you, reinstallation of the application will fix the problem.

Uninstall the Roxio from your system, then reboot to clear completely the components of the application. Then install.

Thanks

DVD RW - Installation Problem

Ok. What I am going to suggest may seem like a daunting task but if you are careful and do only what I suggest you should be ok. The first thing you are going to have to do is manually make a change to the Windows registry to fix the permissions. 1. Fix registry permissions a. Click on "Start" choose "Run", then type "regedit" and click "OK". b. In the Registry Editor, click on the "+" next to "HKEY_Local_Machine". c. Now click on the "+" next to "Software". d. Right-click on the key (folder) called "Roxio" and choose "Permissions". e. Make sure that "Administrators" and "System" have checkmarks for "Full Control" - "Allow". f. If you had to add those checkmarks, click on "Apply". g. Click on "Advanced". h. Put a checkmark in "Replace permission entries on all child objects with the entries shown here that apply to child objects". i. Click "OK". j. Click "OK" again. k. Now close the Registry Editor Next, you will have to uninstall the Roxio software. 1. Remove Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 a. Go to Start--->Settings--->Control Panel--->Add/Remove Programs b. Select Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 and select "Remove" c. Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the computer. 2. Reinstall Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 a. Insert the CD and install as you did before and then reboot. If you have any issues uninstalling the Roxio, go to the following link to download the Microsoft Cleanup Utility... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 Run the utility after the unistallation attempt and then reboot and reinstall Roxio. Hope this helps. Good luck.
