I have a Kenwood kdc-v7017 that came out my brothers car , we replaced with a new pioneer, I want to fix it for my old beater plow truck, the fuse is good in the back of the deck , i was wondering if any one a had service manual that they could post of the steps in diagnosing the problem (tests of diods resisters, circuits) i would have to cheak.
I tested the cable from the face plate to the pcm with a ohm meter and fond that there were a few broken wires in the ribbon cable so i found a downloadable service manual got the part numbers for the ribbon cable and the recptical that the faceplate contacts and ordered them from the kenwood parts web site

There are more fuses which are to be checked other than the one at the back , The power supply fuse should be within the fuse box of the car , Do check them and you'll be fixed for sure , Just find the fuse box and how to replace one using your owners manual
Ordinarily you have two fuses specific to the radio that come with the radio. One for the main power to everything in the radio and one fuse to hold the memory in the radio (stations, time, etc.). The car itself will have its own fuse for the radio too. This will be located in the car's fuse block with all the other car fuses. It may only be 7 amps while the other fuses may be 10, 15, 20 amps or higher. The fuses that came with the radio will be inline fuses and will be located behind the radio in the dash of your car. Good luck.
There is a fuse both in the back of the deck...and in your fuse panel...
Refer to your service manual for the car to find the correct fuse for the audion system.
Refer to your service manual for your deck to see what im talking about...all the fuses Ive seen just plug into the back of the deck.
Partstore.com will have the part but you will need to go to manualsparadise.com first and get a pdf of the COMPLETE service manual with the parts breakdown in it. If you are lucky enough to get the actual part number from someone then you can of course skip the part about getting the service manual. Good luck.
