I can't figure out how to connect the shutter speed to my camera.

You can get much information from the EIXF file generated by the camera with each picture. i think you right click on the picture and select properties. Ed

1. Set the mode dial to "M" for Manual.
2. Press +/- button to select Shutter speed or Aperture value.
3. Use Left or Right arrow key to change the value.

Turn the dial to "Tv" (set Time Value) and use the "left" and "right" buttons to choose the shutter speed displayed on the screen. The camera will adjust the aperture and ISO (sensitivity) to correct the exposure.
