Installed new EOC for Sears Kenmore Elite 790 46609500 oven.
My Sears Kenmore Elite oven fried out on Thanksgiving Day. The Sears technician told us we needed an EOC. We weighed our options--new stove or EOC--bought the EOC and installed it with the power off. We swapped out the wires from the old EOC to the new EOC. After we put the power back on we still have the same problem. The burners work, the oven doesn't. Still flashed F30. Is there a reset button? Some other fix? Please help. This model is 790.46609500.

Re: Installed new EOC for Sears Kenmore Elite 790...
The F30 error code indicates that the electronic oven control board detects an "open" oven temperature sensor probe circuit. This is usually caused by a failed oven temperature sensor probe.
Replacing this component will likely fix your problem.
You can order this part from www.searspartsdirect.com website.
If you replace this part yourself, be sure that you unplug the range to disconnect electrical power before accessing this component.
On some models, you can replace the probe by removing the screws that mount this component to the inside back wall of the oven. Carefully pull the probe inside the oven cavity until you encounter the wire harness disconnect plug. Unplug the sensor and replace it with the new one. Mount the new probe on the back wall of the oven.
On some models, you have to remove the lower back oven panel to access the sensor probe.
If you replace the probe and still have this problem, you will need to unplug the range and measure the resistance through the violet wires that plug into the control board (this is where the sensor probe circuit is connected to the control board). If the resistance through the oven temperature sensor probe circuit is normal (about 1100 ohms at room temperature) then the electronic oven control board will need to be replaced.

This range was made by Frigidaire for Kenmore. Thus the F3 error could mean a problem with the temperature sensor, the EOC (electronic oven control) or the wiring between the two. You'll need to get to the back of the range and check the resistance at the sensor. In a ~70 degree F environment, the sensor should have a resistance of ~1100 Ohms. (The sensor is connected to the EOC by a pair of violet wires.) Make sure to rule out a problem with the wires, if the resistance tests out of specifications.
If the sensor gives the correct resistance and the wires are fine, replace the EOC. Please check that you have given the full model number, I can't find this model anywhere at Sears Parts Direct or elsewhere.
If the stove is under warranty, contact Sears for repairs. I hope this helps.
First please get the full model number of the range. Kenmore products are made by other manufacturers and the error codes will depend on the manufacturer.
Most likely, you have a Frigidaire range (for example a 970. model). Then the F14 code could indicate a problem with the P12 ribbon cable connector tail, a bad EOC (control unit), or touchpad. First try disconnecting and reconnecting that cable. Next the EOC should be replaced. Finally the touchpad should be replaced.
If this is a brand new range, contact Sears to get a repair person to fix the range. If you bought it used, see the above possible solutions.
It's the EOC. However, I replaced my EOC on my Kenmore electric range and it still does not work. I had a Sears tech come out and check the stove. The temp probe was fine and he told me it was the EOC. After I told him it was already replaced, he said, "there's nothing more to do." I'm currently looking for a new stove.
Sorry, but try to replace your EOC and check the temp probe for resistance.
