How do you change the ink roller in a TI 5005 ii

Replacing the Ink Roller
  1. Press the OFF button.
  2. Remove the printer compartment cover.
  3. Remove the ink roller from the right side of the compartment. Insert your index finger, nail down, under the tab on top of the ink roller. Gently lift the ink roller out of the compartment.
  4. Lower the new ink roller (IR-21) into the compartment and align the hole in the ink roller with the pin in the compartment. Press down until it snaps into place.
  5. Replace the compartment cover.
Warning Never refill or moisten the old ink roller. This can damage the
printing mechanism and void the warranty.

How to clean the print head

No easy way to clean the print head. You will need to remove it from the printer to gain access to the area to clean. What does the label look like on the disc? Streaks is probably a dirty print head. If sections of the label are missing it could be the print head or heat roller. Look at the re-transfer (clear) ribbon. If the missing part of the label is left on the ribbon you have a heat roller issue.

I have a TI-5045 II Calculator that wont print

I have the exact same problem (just happended recently) with my TI-5045 II after 25 years of good service. My solution? I just bought another model: Sharp EL-1801V at Stapels for about $31.00. To get the old one fixed will probably cost me $25.00-30.00 just to diagnose, plus shipping and parts and labor. And that assumes I can find a shop to do it, or that TI still stocks the part(s) gone bad. Same old problem with all technology.
