Question about Toshiba Satellite A135-S2386 Notebook

1 Answer

I own a Toshiba Satellite laptop (A135-S4427) running Windows Vista. The laptop has worked well for over one year, but has recently shut off without prompting. When I attempt to restart, it will either reboot, get to the desktop, and then shut down again; or will not start up at all and the power light will blink a series of colors (blue, pink, then amber). I've removed the battery and tried to run the laptop off the power cable alone, but nothing changes from above. I've reseated the RAM. Again, no changed. I have tried to search the internet and user's guide for solutions, but haven't found anything helpful. Can you help me with this?

Have you taken a meter and checked power going into your computer? It could be a problem with the transformer. Most modern laptops seem to run off 19 Volts DC these days but it should specify requirements on the bottom of your laptop. If this is not the problem, please try to record the blink pattern and post it. Example Short Short Long Short Short Long Short Short.

If power is the problem then it shud run ok on battery if thats the case otherwise

i will insist that u change the RAM chips or atleast try one at a time if u have 2 chips of RAM may be one is giving u problem or if u have other notebook available try swapping the RAM from there and see if it works pls let me know with the results if it doesnt give any propmt and shut down suddenly it sure a hardware malfunction/conflict scenario

are ur drivers update have u recently updated any drivers after that this problem started , why dont u try restoring to an earlier date from system restore , what about safe mode try to go in safe mode when system boots up press f8 or f11 and see if it does the same in safe mode as well

u can get more help and pls rate me if fixed ur problem

When you hit F12 or whatever F key to go to the boot drive menu, make sure the cd is in and that you select CD/DVD Drive and the dvd should prompt you to hit any key or will automatically start loading for the recovery. Just tell me if you need further assistance.
