Question about Lexmark Optra T614 Laser Printer
I have a Unisys UDS 25 printer, a few weeks back it started printing very lightly and said toner was low. I replaced the toner cartridge. The new toner cartridge was really blotchy and putting lines all over my page. I chalked this up to a bad toner cartridge. After replacing it again, the printer is printing very lightly with lots of blotches again. I checked the cartridge and it looks fine... Not sure where to go from here.
Your Unisys UDS 25 is actually a Lexmark Optra T612. Are you using OEM cartridges or recharges? If you're using recharges, that would explain the print quality issues. Was it light with the first cartridge as well as the second? The drum "being on its way out" is a moot point since the drum is replaced when you replace the toner, it's all one cartridge. If you have another printer of the same model, try the cartridge in it and see if the problem follows. If it does, it's the cartridge, take it back and get an OEM one. If the problem does not, then you may need a new image transfer roller. Let me know what happens!

Check the Technical Support Team for this machine My guess is the drum is on its way out - or some other replaceable control item but they will know.
