Insignia NS-A2111 audio issue

I bought an Insignia NS-A2111 shelf system about 1 year ago. It worked fine till last week. All the sudden I've observed some performance issues.

When increasing volume above certain level, sound is cutting out. It's happening when reaches volume level 30 out of 64 scale. And it's happening for all types of media - DVD's, audio CD's or playing a radio. I haven't seen that before. And it's annoying it happened right after 1 year warranty ended.

Thanks for your help,
Jan

I have exactly the same unit and problem as described by pando76. Unit will cut off once I reach mid volume on all media.

Ph_christens, thanks for your help. I took it apart and found a filter
with loose contact. But in addition to that there were 3 more loose
contacts from other components. I tried to solder them, but my
soldering iron was not appropriate and I'm not very skilled solderer
either. I read many other complains about Insignia. This brand is ****.

I had the same problem, its an easy fix if you can solder, and costs less than five dollars in parts, The two filter caps in the audio power supply are not soldered very well so vibrations cause them to break loose from the board.

Try to follow the inverter to backlight connections---either a loose or damaged plug (look for any plug with tape on it at the plug first) or on the board that powers the lights a bad solder connection or connections where plugs connect.

Change input device to some other which you know works for sure. If problem persists, try changing the channel. If you notice same problem, this may need attention by a qualified service technician.

Hello
I've the repair manual to your Insignia set, but I can's send it to you by this window as it does not allow me to upload any files by it. If you are interested, just buy one among my services advertised in Fixya, and com over to me. OK.

My Insignia NS-LDVD32Q-10A Tv Negative Picture

I have the same exact tv and the same exact set of problems, I was watching a movie through my xbox 360 connected by a hdmi cable. All of the sudden (noone walked by it, noone touched it, did not change the channels, didn't hit the remote) the colors just kind of "reversed". very very strange, don't know whats going on with it. And of course we can't find our reciept either, we even bought the extended service plan. A lot of help that did if we can't find it.

Cant help with diagrams but have you tried "freeze". Its a spray that cools components to see if they are breaking down thermally which does sound a little like it could be possibly. The cold component then rights itself when sprayed for a little while till it get warms again.

Best of luck
