Check your depth of field preview lever below the lens, I bet it is stuck in preview mode. The lever is pretty tough so try to force all of the way into preview mode and it should snap back into picture taking mode. DO NOT FORCE THE LEVER BACK TO PICTURE MODE!
If it releases, you can spray a LLITTLE silicone lube into the lever slot.
I hope this works out for you. The T90 is the best film camera body of all the completion.

I don't have a T90 or an FD lens, so can only guess what this means. This is quoted from the T90 manual:

"When you use the stopped-down AE mode with the FD lens, do not push in the stop-down lever with the lens set at the "A" mark. If you do, "E" marks indicating an error will appear to warn you of incorrect operation (EEEE EE in the viewfinder and EEE on the display panel), and the shutter is locked.

In this case, either push in the stop-down lever again to clear the stopped-down AE or remove the lens from the "A" mark. The error display will then disappear."

The stop-down lever is on the lower left front of the camera, and is what is usually now called the "depth of field preview" button. The "A" mark is the setting on the lens for fully automatic aperture control.

I have a canon t90 slr the handle on the battery cartridge has broke off and canot remove the cartridge from the body of camera any way solving this please Steve

www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer.

Use a tooth pick to open it, if that part of the latch is still there.
Otherwise a utility knife blade in the slot along the back side, Stick it in gently, right above where the release button was, should allow you to slide the door.open.

Lens mount fit

None directly. The T90 was the last Canon camera to use the older FD lenses. All newer Canon SLRs, film and digital, use the EF mount. However, by using an adapter such as http://www.rakuten.com/prod/adorama-canon-fd-lens-to-eos-body-adapter-with-correction-glass/216466533.html?listingId=120668308, you can use the old lenses on any Canon digital SLR.

Canon T90 haven't used camera for 6 months, new batteries in camera will not function at all, was 100% O.K. when last used, any ideas please

Check to make sure the replacement battery or batteries are correctly installed. There should be some type of diagram in the plastic or label showing the correct orientation. IF the batteries are correctly installed and the T90 still persists in not operating then remove the batteries and clean all the terminals/connections either with a new rubber on the end of a pencil. I have as much as I hate to admit left batteries in my gear and had to resort to abrasive paper affixed to a new pencil to get down inside the battery chamber to clean the contacts. Also and I hope this is not the case the T90 has an internal battery and if this is dead then I'd suggest sending it to a repair facility. Most service places will clean lub and adjust and replace the battery for about $100.00 and Yes the camera is worth it even today in our digital world

I have a sony dsc-t90 camera when i turn on the power there is error massage {for compatible battery use only}i change a new battery but the problem is still there so is there any body can help me what is...

The compatible batteries for this Camera are NP-FD1, NPBDL.

Please make sure that you're using compatible battery pack.

Remove and reinsert the battery pack, while the Camera is turned off.

Reset the Camera by removing the battery while the Camera is ON and reinsert the battery after a minute and turn on the Camera.

If the issue is not resolved the Camera needs to be serviced, as it will be the issue with the hardware part of the Camera.

I just loaded up my old T90 after 4yrs of non use. All was well, the display showed mode, shutter speed etc then when I took the first shot I got HELP in the viewfinder and the three EEEs on the lcd. I...

Lin & Daniel,
I had the same problem w/ my T90 after years of not using it. But, the T90 is not dubbed the Tank for nothing. The shutter curtains stucked/stacked because of unuse, especially if you hadn't used it for years.
Here's what i've done to revived it:
I set the shutter speed Tv 500 in Low then hit the carpeted floor while pressing the release button.
Try it my friends and let me know.
