Freezer not making ice in Fridgidaire model PLH269ZDB2

I have a side by side fridge that came with the house we just bought and the ice maker is not working. The water dispenser works just fine. I have tried turning the switch on and off numerous times and still nothing. Any ideas? Is this a common problem?

I know which arm you are talking about and it is in the down position. I have lifted it up and down numerous times to maybe trigger it?? Also, we just fixed the water line yesterday as we moved our fridge and it is not crimped. The ice maker was not working before or after the move.

My ice maker does not produce ice. Water line is not crimped. Water flows through the refrigertator because it still dispenses water.

Have you made sure the arm or flap attached to the ice maker is down? this little arm tells the icemaker to start making ice, or stops it when it is full or you are on vacation. Also, it's possible when you push the fridge back into place that you are crimping the water line shut. this last one happened to me when I moved into my house. I had tp hold the line up, then push the fridge back a little less thatn I had before. Don't forget to rate answer if it helps.

Good luck!

Sounds like you've done all you can do. If the fridge is under warranty, or you have a home owner's insurance, I'd have a repairman come out and trouble shoot the ice making unit. As one of the other responders said, the contacts may not be aligned, or be burned out.

    Good luck!

Hi, I think you have a very common problem, This can be caused by then arm on the ice maker is in the down posistion. If you lift the arm up on the ice maker and give it a while to cycle on the timer inside the ice maker compartment it should work. If not the ice maker will need replacing, This normally is the case as the contacts are burnt out...'

Ok then what you need to do now is take the cover off the front of the ice maker compartment and check inside for and obvious damage? It looks like a timer inside and if my memory is correct some of them have a reset button that needs to be pushed with something like a pen in the top right hand corner?

Try this or give me the model number and i will try and look for the service manual online!?

There is a lever in the ice bin that detects when it is full. if that lever is locked in the"up" position, the maker stops making ice. Many times a previous owner or a shipper will turn off the icemaker this way. especially if the water to the home or freezer is turned off, so it won't keep trying to make ice.

Try this,Open the freezer and look at the ice maker, there is a bar above the ice bin that kinda looks like a piece of metal coat hanger,Push it to the down position. If it is already down,Post back

PHS39EHSS Fridgidaire refrigerator leaking.

Ice makers making grinding noise. This happens every month. What we do is unplug the fridge remove all the food in the freezer then use a blow dryer to thaw the ice build up (fan?)This is very annoying and I would like to find a permament solution. Ibought Frigidaire Professional because I thought I was getting a quality product. I guess I was wrong. Any help I can get would be appreciated.

Loud noise from the freezer side

The problem is a buildup of ice on the plastic housing (the curved plastic bit) in the back of the freezer under the fixed shelf where the icetub goes. The fan behind this plastic housing is hitting the ice when the defrost comes on.

Unplug the fridge, unpack the freezer, remove the four screws in the back, take off the sheetmetal backing and let the fridge thaw. You can remove the plastic piece after a while and get the ice off (be careful not to remove the styrofoam insulation by going too quickly).

Reassemble and you're back in business, for a few months. I'm never buying Samsung again myself.

Water Leak Into Freezer

Replace the water inlet solenoid valve found in back which controls the water feed into the ice maker. It may not be re-seating properly.

Water leak

IF THE ICE MAKER AND DISPENSER ARE BOTH OFF, THE WATER VALVE IS THE PROBLEM. THERE SHOULD ONLY BE WATER RUNNING WHEN THE ICE MAKER CALLS FOR IT, AND THAT SHOULD ONLY BE ABOUT 7 SECONDS WORTH,
(4 OUNCES).
THE ONLY THING THAT PUZZLES ME ABOUT YOUR DESCRIPTION IS THAT YOU SAY ICE FREEZES OVER THE COMPRESSOR. THE COMPRESSOR IS THE HOT ROUND OBJECT LOCATED UNDER THE REFRIGERATOR OUTSIDE THE COOLING COMPARTMNTS. FREEZING ONLY TAKES PLACE IN THE FREEZER COMPARTMENT. ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT THE EVAPORATOR COILS? IF THERE IS WATER THERE, THE ICE MAKER COULD BE STUCK IN THE FILL MODE AND THE BACK OF THE ICE MAKER FROZEN SO THE WATER CAN'T REACH THE MOLD OF THE ICE MAKER.
CHECK THE FRONT OF THE ICE MAKER BEHIND THE COVER FOR A BROKEN GEAR. IF IT HAS WRITING ON IT THAT SAYS DO NOT ROTATE MANUALLY, YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE MODULE ON THE FRONT OF THE ICE MAKER.

Water line to ice maker frozen

Check to make sure that the damper between the freezer and fridge is not broken or frozen open. Make sure that you shut off the water supply to the fridge until you get this fixed because the line could crack and then you could flood the house.

Fridge freezer door ice maker

the ice maker controls the seloniod the icemaker wire arm must be all the way down .just because the seloniod test good doesnt mean the valve seat isnt stuck the water valves open by your house water pressure if your filter is dirty this can also lower the pressure if the icemaker module is bad this also can cause it if you pull the front of the ice-maker off you will se a bunch of holes if you get a piece of 10 Gage house strip about 1/4 inch off either side and insert it into the holes marked t and h that will test cycle the ice maker they will be close together don't get shocked if the ice maker cycles and doesnt fill and the ice maker fill tube isn't frozen replace the water valve if the ice-maker doesn't cycle replace the brown motor module
