Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Go into properties and set to glossy photo paper instead of regular paper. That's all it takes!

Linking photoshop and canon MP700 for best quality photos

If your pictures are shot at the highest setting on your camera, you should not have to do anything in Photoshop.

When you go to print make sure the print setting on the printer are set to the highest level.

Lines through photos

you'll have to clean the printer head. It's possible that your driver can do it automatically. It happens after a long time whitout using the printer. The ink can become dry and solid.

Horizontal colored lines through grayscale printed photos

Hi George,

It sound's like an ink-feed issue:

1) Dirty heads, even after cleaning
2) No-ink or poor quality ink
3) Damaged head: some are part of the cartridge, some are not
4) Air bubbles in ink

The test page is typically not as hi-res nor as saturated as a
photo print. The hi-res photo puts the greatest demand on the print head.

The color lines you see are actually lines of missing color,
where the head has failed to deposit ink, so one or two primary
colors are missing from the complete picture.

For example missing yellow will make a blue line.
Missing magenta will make a green line
Missing cyan will make a red line.... etc..

Clean the heads again and again, print again and again,
hoping to flush the system.

BUT, keep in mind that cleaning wastes huge amounts of
ink and tiny little cartridges of ink cost more than many new printers.

MP700 Magenta horizontal stripes

I have the same problem. Here's the advice I found somewhere on the internet:

If a jet (nozzle) in your cartridge has gone bad you will see horizontal bands and/or white streaks in your print. Print characteristics may appear incomplete and/or the filled in areas on may not show up.
1) Run some warm water over the print head. This can wash away any ink which might have dried in the cartridge print head. Dry the cartridge with a lint-free cloth before placing back into the printer.

2) Clean the contacts on the cartridge (the copper colored circuitry) and the contacts where the cartridge clips into the printer with water or alcohol. After cleaning, insert and remove the cartridge from the printer a few times to be sure you have a good connection between contacts on the cartridge and the printer.

3) If your print is smeared cleaning the wiper blade may fix the problem. Do this according to your printer manual instructions.

Canon Lines in picture and colored word doc

you should check whether the color ink is out or not. If so replace it with a new one. Otherwise just cleaning the print head will solve your problem. To clean the head Go to control panel > open printers and faxes > right click printer icon > Click properties > Find the option "Clean print head" or somthing sismilar. Use it and your problem could be solved. Note: Some printers have seperate software utilities to clean the print head.

Photo Printing

Hi, Most Inkjets have maintenance software installed in the computer itself where the printer is attached. If you would like to try, please click on Start/Printers and Faxes/ A new window will pop up where your Canon Pixma MP500 will be shown. Right click on the Canon icon and left click on the Properties. A new window will pop up. See if there is any Utilities or Maintenance Tab. If none, try clicking on Printing Preferences. Another window will pop up. Normally this is where your Maintenance Option is displayed. Clicking on the Maintenance (sometimes they use Utilities) Tab, a list of maintenance options will be displayed. Pls follow the on screen instructions. They icons represent the action you would want done like head cleaning, alignment, roller cleaning etc. Clicking on the icon initiate the action. Should you still need a copy of the User's Manual, it may be downloaded from www.usa.canon.com Hope this be of some help to you. Pls post again how things turn up. Good luck and kind regards.
