On my advent roma 2000 laptop, randomly the screen went black when i turn it on but it comes on at the start for 2 seconds then goes off..? what do i do

If you can give me some more detail, I might be able to help. Are you trying to connect your computer to your TV? If that is the case, most graphic cards can be set for dual output, but in most cases this has to be enabled through the software that came with your graphics card or by going to the properties screen on your computer monitor. Hi mgforlife, try this solution:

turn off the pc, unplug all the cables on your laptop , remove the battery
then press & hold the power button for 5 seconds. Then replug the cable and reinsert the battery on it. Turn on the pc and check if the video in full screen would work..
