Question about HP Printers & Copiers

9 Answers

I have a HP Officejet 6310 All in One printer. It's stuck. It continuously repeats the same page over and over again. It tries to go to the next page but printer stops. I've cleared it, restarted it, Reset it, turned it off, and unplugged it. when turned back on, it does the same thing. over and over.

Hi! Open Control Panel and open printer & faxes options, now double click on your default printer and delete all the pending tasks(if any) in printing queue. And, then hard reset your printer by following way-

Unplug the printer from power. And then wait for about 1 min for the power to be totally drained out of the printer. And then press and hold onto # and 3 buttons on the number pad on the printer and then plug in the power cable while keep on pressing the # and 3 buttons. Now wait till a message comes up on the printer display. Normally this will come up with Language selection.
Now Check For Page Settings.

To reprogram service menu you can do the following-
While the printer is fully powered on and it is in standby mode. press * and # button together. This will show a message on the display of the printer similar to this "********########" . once you get this message key in the following number in sequence using the number pad 329. Once you done that a message will come on the display saying "Service" and a number. Now using the arrow buttons browse through the menu options.

Open control panel then open administrative tools, click on services.
in services right click on print spooler and click stop, now you navigate to this folder "C:you want to delete the files in the PRINTERS folder, they are the print jobs waiting to be printed, after you delete them return the print spooler to a running state in services and try to use the printer again.
WARNING only delete the files in the printers folder.
DON'T GO TO PRINTERS AND FAXES AND REMOVE YOUR PRINTER OR TRY REINSTALLING IT, BIG WASTE OF TIME AND IT MAY NOT HELP.

this works for me every time, and it only takes a minute.
it truly is the quickest way to remove a print job gone bad.

my wireless print server sometimes skips a beat then gets stuck trying to print pages of random junk forever and i have to do this to clear it off, then its good as new afterwords again.

here is a link to some advice called I have something stuck in my print queue.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, pls Cancel the print job from your computer. Goto Printers (& Faxes) in the Control Panel, right click on HP Officejet 6310 and "Cancel All Print Jobs". Alternately, double click on the printer icon in the Sytems Tray and delete all pending print jobs. Reboot your computer.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy New Year.

Unplug the printer from the computer usb.

do a semi full reset 1. Unplug the power cable from printer when the printer is powered on and wait for 20 seconds.

2. Then, press and hold # and 6 while plugging in the power cord. Continue holding until it displays Semi Full Reset message in the front panel of the All in one

plug the usb back to the computer ones it is turned on and not printing.

Is the printer working normally?

Will it not stop printing when you unplug the usb? you have something in the printing queue and the computer seems to be sending the documents to the printer again.

  • Ekse Jan 02, 2009

    -unplug the usb
-unplug the power from the printer

    -perform the semi full reset

-turn the printer off and then on normally

has the printer stoped printing? Does the printer stop printing if you just unplug it and then cut the power for a minute.

Paper jam message no paper jam cartridge gets stuck HP 6310 all in one

Paper jams can be tricky to solve. The paper is usually stuck inside the printer mechanism so even if there is no visible paper jam, you will still get the paper jam error. Try this:

1. Turn off your printer
2. Open all trays and remove any paper stuck there
3. Locate the button to open the printer, open it and remove any paper stuck there also.
4. Repeate the above step for all buttons that you can find to access the inside of the printer
5. Close all doors and put back all trays
6. Turn on your printer

Hp 6310 show offline wont print

Hi, how do you connect to the printer? USB/parallel/Network? Does it prints fine if you print an information page from the printer display/butons? I would try to uninstall the printer driver and install it again to start. It's definately a communication problem so it may take a few tries to get it to work again.

Bad print outs.

You could try putting your printer through a few cleans and calibrations. If this doesnt work try changing the ink cartridges, as one may have a damaged printhead
