Question about JVC Everio GZ-MG130 Camcorder

2 Answers

Short circuit I have a GZ_MG50E/EK which I was informed would charge off of my car cigarette lighter by the appropriate connections. It did the job for a couple of days, but then when reconnecting, I smelt burning....It is currently temporarily dead, and I would appreciate if anyone could pass me the knowledge of how to revive it...Ray

You probably did not check to see what the tag says (Under the camera) as to what is the "input" voltage. Your car charger probably loaded it with too high a voltage and you burned it out. You have voided all the warrantees, and have probably smoked permanently the battery pack, and any circuits involved. You have a pemanently destroyed camera. Tough luck, but dumb for not buying the proper charger from the company.

Cig lighter fuse keeps blowing out

Research what else is on the circuit. In the old days when cars had more than one cigarret lighter I discovered that a penny fits in the socket perfectly and would cause a short.

If you own a 12 volt test light you can check the cigarette lighter yourself. The only thing to remember is that the round part of the lighter is the found and in the very center inside is the power. Do NOT allow the negative ground and the positive power touch one another. This will cause a short to ground. You can also remove the trim from around the lighter and make sure it's still connected to the wiring harness. And with the trim off use the test light to check to see if its getting a power source and good ground to complete the circuit. Also look inside the cigarette light and make sure there isn't a bunch of trash or old spilled coffee or soda inside it that is preventing it from working properly. Hope this helps b

1996 Jimmy brake light fuse keeps blowing even when you open the door any suggestions?

CHECK YOUR CIGARETTE LIGHTER FOR FOREIGN OBJECTS, (COINS, PAPERCLIPS) MOST GMC OF THAT YEAR HAVE LIGHTERS THAT SHORT OUT. ALSO TRY DISCONNECTING THEM. DOME LAMPS, CIGARETTE LIGHTERS, VANITY MIRRORS, STOP LAMPS ARE ON THE SAME CIRCUIT. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU.

I have just purchased a new Vauxhall Corsa and my Navman 1CN320 will not fit in the cigarette lighter to keep it charged. Can you supply an adapter

Hi.

Here the adapter cable for your car lighter.

As far as I know the new Corsa has a standard cigarette lighter, the cable above should do the job. If the problem is different and you need more help, just let me know.

Regards.

Hi,i'm having trouble with the cig lighter on my car, it keeps blowing fuses. can i wire it directly to the battery with an inline fuse? How would i do this?

you could do this by running 2 wires directly from the battery to the back of the cig lighter and by fusing the positive.if it is only when using the cig lighter and not when charging a phone ect.it could be element on the cig lighter shorting

Ro record, and no image in the screen on the camera JVC GZ-MG50E

I answered same problem like you have now. Just in case you don't find it. I hope you are familiar with these things technically. Open the set up-to where the lens can be accessed, remove the iris unit and clean those two curtain(shutter), for sure it's stucked up. You san test it by moving it open manually and it must close when released. To clean, you have to remove these curtain out from the assy. Spray with head cleaning agent or any alcohol base cleaner and dry.Test iris unit first to make sure its ok before assembling. Good Luck

While using a GPS car charger there was an electrical problem which caused the cigarette lighter and the clock to stop and may be other things will not work properly . What shall I do?

check the fuse for the cigarette lighter and the clock is on the same circuit I think,do you know what caused the problem in the first place, check to see if there is a piece of something metallic(gum wrapper, etc)in the bottom of the cigarette lighter that could possibly cause a short.

DOES NOT CHARGE AFTER HOURS OF CHARGING WILL NOT TAKE ANY INFORMATION.

Confirm that it is charging, check the fuse for the cigarette lighter socket in the car you are using, check the fuse in the power cord, the tip of the cigarette lighter adapter should twist off and expose a fuse.

Hope this is of some help.
