Thread bunches under metal plate when embroidering

I have only had the CE-150 for 2 weeks and have yet been able to complete one embroidery pattern. The upper thread seems to be circling around the bobbin and then it starts bunching up directly under the hole the needle passes through!!! Any idea what I (or the machine)might be doing wrong?

I can not solve this, but mine is doing same thing. I have tried weakening and strenghtening the tension with no luck. Mine does not do this on lettering only pictures or that is all so far. Mine is an older model that I purchased used from a good friend but she did not use it much. Someone told me to clean under the bobbin plate (not sure what you call it where the dog feed is at) I have done that but it still does the same thing. If you find out I would love to know what you find out.

Why is the fabric bunching into the bobbin when embroidering with the Singer Futura

bobbin thread is too high pressure or too low pressure on teh top adjustment!

remove bobbin and turn tension screw about 1/8turn left (anticlockwise) check if still grabbing, if so - top thread turn about 1/4 turn (at embroidery ir should do automatically, but sometimes need kick...).

check if it is still grabbing on the bottom, do it grab during straight? zigzag? double zigzag? if do not - setting on the pattern need to be look at. if it tangle as well on these three - need definitely servicing...

follow manual how to adjust.

How d0 you replase the bobbin case? i had to remove because all my thread got bunched under during embroidery and now it will not fit in right and still gets bunched help please

The silver plate on top of the area covering where you place your bobbin into has screws you need to carefully remove (careful not to loose them!). From there, you should be able to see the screw in the front you need to move-but be REALLY careful, because it holds two small pieces of metal that will easily fall! If you need to, take pictures with your cellphone or digital camera as you remove the old bobbin casing so you can see how to put the new one in.

Bobbin thread is coming to top when embroidering. I have changed needle and re-threaded several times

Just an FYI-the bobbin thread needs to match your top thread. The majority of the thread that appears in the top of your embroidery actually IS the bobbin thread. The machine is working correctly. Don't use a bobbin full of white thread-instead, thread a bobbin with the color your doing the embroidery work in to match and you will have a perfectly beautiful embroidery.

Dear Magarita, The safety device is activated when thread gets entangled around the bobbin case. First check by removing the plastic see-through plate. If necessary remove the 2 scews on the metal needle plate and remove the bobbin case completely. Put it back and test by turning the handwheel. It should turn freely.

Hope this solves your problem.

could be a threading problem. on the top of the machine, where you go under the plate, pull the thread back and forth like you are flossing. you should feel the thread snap around the 2 wheels, then continue threading. hope it helps

Thread get's tangled and attached to plate while embroidering

Just a thought. Is it possible that your thread is wrapping around your spool post or snagging on your thread spool?

Thread Mess!

The symtoms you describe are typical to insufficient top tension.

First check the dension dial is on S for normal sewing and E for embroidery. If this is the case, re thread your machine with the pressure foot up and make sure the thread goes over the take up lever.

Under the embroidery attachement (on the front side) is a lever to engage or disengage the "feed dog control." When embroidering, you need to move the lever to the level to disengage. The feed dog control should only be at the righe side position, or raised when you are not using the embroidery attatchment.
