Equalizer is connected in between the deck and the reciever. Deck into the input of the equalizer, and the out of the equalizer goes into the tape input on the reciever.

2000 Buick Century. Put in a replacement radio/cd/casset player. Radio works, clock works, but CD and casset do not. The message comes up E 13. What does this e code mean?

if its a radio shack radio, it means E13 means "Tape Communication Error". It is caused by the
microprocessor reading speed pulses from the tape deck either too fast, most other makes mean about the same thing, normally a stuck tape will cause this code to show up, either that or the drive gear that loads and unloads the tape is broken, cracked, or jammed

I have a Fisher stereo. The amp is a ca871 the eq is a ca871 the casset deck is a crw870. How do I connect these components up.

The amp has tape rc out and pb. The eq has line in, line out, tape rec out, tape pb. The casset deck has line in,line out.

Ok, hook the amps RC OUT to the eq's LINE IN.
amps RC Pb to the eq's LINE OUT.
The tape's LINE OUT to the eqs TAPE PB
the tapes LINE IN to the EQs TAPE REC OUT.

on the eq, there should be a button to toggle between tape and source.

let me know if that works.

How to record from Casset tape to CD disk? Thank you !

You can do this with your PC. Download a program called Audacity. It's free. With it, you can record audio from your Line IN connector. You'll need to connect your cassette player to the Line in on your PC. Start Audacity, set it to record and play your tape.

If you want to save the files as a .mp3, you'll also need to download the LAME mp3 encoder. In any case, when you have the file recorded, export it as a .mp3 or .wav and then use your CD burning program to create the CD.

Canon ZR60 Mini DV Digital, remove the cassete message

This is a tape transport problem and is expensive to fix. Unless you know a cheap tech, it's time for a new one. Be patient loading and unloading tapes. This is usually what causes this problem. The Yellow warning sticker is REALLY important. Another important item is to always use the same brand of tape because switching tapes causes a gummy build-up the makes tapes get caught in the machine.

Recording

It will record any line level source (CD, MD, tape, tuner). You can only record vinyl records if you have a phono pre-amp.

The best way to use a CD recorder is to use the "tape loop" on your amp/receiver. Does your amp/receiver have a "tape in" and a "tape out"? If it does you should connect your CD recorder to these in/outputs. That way, whatever your amp or receiver is set to listen to, is what you'll be recording.
