Can i connect new pc to old connection

You simply need to disconnect old computer from the network and connect the new one.
Are you trying to connect wired computer or wireless?

If you are trying to connect a wired computer then you don't need to do anything.
Just take out the Ethernet cable from the old computer and connect it to the new computer.

If you are connecting a wireless computer to the network then make sure that you have all the settings of your wireless router.
If your wireless network is secured then you should know the correct network key.
What is the operating system on your computer?

I will suggest you a website " The Router Setup " which may help you connect your new computer to the old wireless network.

Go to Administrative Page on your router at section Setup - Basic and activate: Keep Alive : Redial Period 30 seconds.

After that restart your router

The router keeps cutting out(every 30 mins or so) and I have to keep rebooting by disconnecting and reconnecting mains

theres something interfering with your connection most likely its to close to your main internet connection and then again it might be because your to far away from the router if that dont work try and delete the router software data and reinstall it some times the files arent work great like they should and may be haveing dificulties trying to process the connection to establish it properly. I hope this helps.

My wireless on desktop sometimes disconnect itself on xp why is that and how can i make it automatically put it back right after? by itself?

I've had this same problem. You must get a new router because routers, especially if they're old, have connection/bandwidth technicalities which cause them to malfunction at times.

Linksys WRT54GX2 constantly disconnects

I just upgraded from firmware version 1.01.14 to 1.01.22 and I have the same problem, the router just keeps resetting itself. I think the solution is to go back to the old firmware, but I haven't been able to find a copy yet, Once I find firmware version 1.01.14 for the WRT54GX2 router. I will let you know if this is the solution... :)

Laptop keeps disconnecting then connecting every so often.

Has the computer ever stayed on long enough to connect to the internet?

Is there a wired computer working when attached to the router?

If not, if possible please try to connect the laptop wired to the router as a test and tell me if it works.

I am trying to determine if your router works with the internet before considering the wireless connection simplying the initial problem. Once the router works wired is time to try the wireless. Once the wireless works unsecured you may want to change the router and wireless adapter to secure the wireless network. So this can be a three step process.

Cannot acquire network address from access point

then it seems thatb the wireless security key for your network is incorrect, make sure if you are entering the key correctly..
or else..
check if you are able to go online with the router wired first, if yes, then the w/ls settings has to be checked..open your w/ls network connection, remove your preferred wireless network and then try to reconnect again and check.. if you are not able to gon online wired with the router, disconnect power cables from modem- router , wait for 10 sec, and reconnect it , wait till all the lights come up and then reconnect, check if you are able to go online if not your router has to be reconfigured,,

plz check and revert back in case of any issues
