Question about HP Pavilion dv8000t Notebook

1 Answer

I have a Hp Pavilion Dv8000t that is running extremely hot. I am very concerned with this laptop that is having the heat problems. Especially with Minors using it. I have complained before about the heat problem while it was under warranty and all they said to do was buy a "Chill Mat" and that isn't really fixing the problem. In my research I have been finding others have had this same problem, that the laptop running at dangerously high temperatures. What would be the best way to contact HP to get this problem solved, possibly with a replacement (non dangerous) laptop?

My hp gets used on my quilt on the bed and after 20 mins if you move it you can warm your feet better than water bottle so dont worry.
if you go into bios you can config fan to be constantly on if youre so concerned.I have 4 laptops which all but one get extremely hot.
the advent 4211-b small compact, built in webcam, built in wireless ,built in blue tooth, built in sd card reader.system recovery built in before os means if ever you have a problem with os you can reinstall to factory in about if you choose to replace laptop this would be a good choice.

Why does my screen only brighten when the ac adapter is unplugged on HP Pavilion dv8000?

That cause by setting at Power Management setting. If your laptop setting is default, LCD back light is 60% if you running on battery and 100% when running with plug in. You also can change a setting at :

1- Go to Control Panel
2- Go to System & Security
3- Go to Power Option
4- Change Plan Setting

My hp pavilion dv4000 is running hot. takes

Thank you for your query

With laptops there is hot and there is hot, the normal type of hot is due to general use and should be expected, especially as people who put on their laps and dont allow the heat to escape

However there is a different hot which is very hot to the feel and occasionally there is a burning smell coming from it. if you are experiencing this problem then please do the following

1) Switch on laptop
2) Press F2, F12 or ec key to enter BIOS setup
3) Once in bios look thorugh the menu'suntil you come up with a cpu temp option
4) Leave the laptop runing on this if the temp increases very wuickly and goes above approx 50 degrees (celsius) then your CPU is overheating and is probably the heatsink that needs replacing

If it is the heatsink, i would not recommend that you replace yourself as you will need to go down to motherboard level

if it doesnt then it is normal operation for your laptop

If this has been useful please leave postive feedback/vote/testimonial - Thank You Again

When using laptop, battery and charger become extremly hot during use. So I unplug charger until battery runs low then recharge? Unit is still under extended warranty

Those chargers, especially newer ones, shouldn't be getting that hot. Definitely have it replaced by them free while it's still under warranty.

How i can turn on remote control on hp pavilion dv8000t? It's not working.

There is no option for turning ON or OFF for the remote control.

Change the batteries of the remote control and check.

If it is not working, then you may need to purchase HP Remote control.

Part number: 407313-001

Contact HP support to get the required part. They will ship you within 3-5 business days.

As per my knowledge, you can have the part replaced with a new one, if you are covered under extended warranty.
