Go to the netgear website, get the manual for that modle - it will tell you how to reset the router to factory defaults

if you are useing wireless - you have to use a wired connection temporarily to access the setup pages

I have netgear N300 model number WN3000RPv3 serial number too small to read. I set it up but ran into problem and had to start over. Problem is it did not record my password. I need help.

Most routers have a small hole in the case that has a reset button just inside it. Use an extended ballpoint pen or a straightened out paper clip and push and hold the button in for about 10 seconds. That should reset the router to its store bought configuration. Note: some routers require that you hold in the reset button while you turn off and then back on the unit for it to reset. Hope this helps.

Password negear gateway cc3000d

You will need to press and hold the reset button on the back of the router for about 10 seconds. This will reset the configuration to it's defaults. Then you will need to set the router back up again.

I cant find the password for my netgear

If you have changed the default password, you need to reset the router to the factory settings to get in with the default user and password (user admin and password as password, or if that doesn't work try 1234). Note that you will lose the ISP settings and wireless settings when you reset the router.

Here's a video on how to reset the router to the factory default settings: http://kbserver.netgear.com/media/flash/training/Troubleshooting/NG_WGR614V9Router_TS_LostPassword.html

Reset and Restore the NETGEAR device to Factory Default Settings Problem: var js_3;function initPsDisplay(){js_3 = new PsDisplay({"info":{"controller_name":"PsDisplay","name":"PsDisplay_3","type":"FormField","w_id":3},"attrs":{"label":"","tabindex":"","field_name":"description","cf_id":"","table":"answers","highlight":0},"js":null});js_3.init();}YAHOO.util.Event.onDOMReady(initPsDisplay); Symptoms:
  • Forgotten/lost password to log into the NETGEAR device
  • Cannot access the NETGEAR device web interface

Workaround: var js_4;function initPsDisplay(){js_4 = new PsDisplay({"info":{"controller_name":"PsDisplay","name":"PsDisplay_4","type":"FormField","w_id":4},"attrs":{"label":"","tabindex":"","field_name":"solution","cf_id":"","table":"answers","highlight":0},"js":null});js_4.init();}YAHOO.util.Event.onDOMReady(initPsDisplay); Resolution:
If you have changed the default password and have forgotten the password, you may need to reset the NETGEAR device to factory default settings.

When a NETGEAR device resets, it goes back to the state when it was new — all information that was entered by hand is lost! Examples are critical things you need to get online, such as ISP username, ISP password, IP addresses, wireless security keys, and ports and services that were opened. It all needs to be re-entered.
So, have your ISP information before resetting the router.
Naturally, if you moved to a new city, or if you bought a used router, the old information in the router may not be of use to you. Contact your ISP if you can't connect any computer directly to the Internet.

Reset for most routers with a reset button on the rear panel
Write down configuration information such as IP addresses, security keys, opened ports and services, etc., that you modified. (The default username is admin and the password is either password or 1234. Try these before resetting the router.)
  1. Press the reset button on the back until the test light blinks. This takes about 10 seconds. (To avoid accidental resets, the small button is recessed. Use a pen or paperclip to access it.)
  2. Release the button.
  3. Wait for the router to reboot.
  4. Log in with the default password. If the router configuration was not cleared, try these additional steps AFTER the router has finished rebooting.
  5. Unplug the router's power.
  6. Press and hold the reset button. While the button is held down, reconnect router's power.
  7. Continue to hold the reset button for 20 seconds after reconnecting the power.
  8. Wait for the router to reboot.
  9. Log in with the default password.

Hope this helps.......

God Bless.......

Router problems

Look at the part of the 614 where the jacks are. One of the vent holes isn't :-) If you take a paper clip and push it into the hole, you will reset the router back to the day it was taken out of the box (hold the clip in for 10 seconds or so).

Netgear.com has a downloadable manual, but the default address is 192.168.1.1 and the username and password is admin and password. It can also be reached by going to www.routerlogin.com
or just key in the gateway address. Your computer needs to be in the same domain, which it will if you use get dhcp and just plug into any of the ports on the router. Setup consists of letting the wizard configure the router and you turn on wireless and give it a password.

have you tried admin and password? The defaults if you haven't changed them.

Or if you did.
