Question about Fujitsu AMILO PC Laptops

Error code 10

Hi people, i have this amilo notebook and the problem is that the cd drive doesnt recognise any discs. the unit attempts to spin when a disc is inserted..but thats it!
all my windows updates...are up to date. I have looked in the device manager and it reports an ERROR CODE 10 under the cd drive. the driver reports no problem with this device, and i made sure i have the lastest driver for this unit. im running windows vista.

I have a sneaky suspicion the unit istself is damged?

Any futher checks i could make to prove this??

Heres what you need to do...

1. Click on START button, then click RUN
2. Type REGEDIT and press Enter
3. When REGEDIT starts, navigate to the following folder:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
Class
{4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

4. Left click on {4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
**This then should have an entry at the top on the right saying 'DVD/CD-Rom Drives'**
5. In the right-hand pane, right click on the entry named "Lowerfilters", press Delete and hit Yes
6. In the right-hand pane, right click on the entry named "Upperfilters", press Delete and hit Yes
7. Close REGEDIT, shutdown and restart your PC

Cd will not eject. Keeps giving message "Now OPC" but will not do anything and will not eject cd either.


To remove a stuck CD from Tascam CC222 MKII

This solved the "Now OPC" problem



1. Unplug unit

2. Remove the top cover, (3 screws on each side and 3 on the back, lift cover).

3. Plug in unit.

4. Power on the unit to observe the drive spindle spinning clockwise, (1" disc on top of drive).

5. Turn off unit, do not unplug at this time.

6. Use a small screwdriver to prevent the drive spindle from spinning.

7. Power on the unit preventing the spin.

8. In approximately 10 seconds the display will read "Disc Error" and the CD tray will open.

9. Remove the screwdriver and the disc.

10. Turn off the unit and unplug.

11. Replace the cover.

12. Use a better quality disc.

Nad 502 CD will not recognise and play CD every time


HI.This will occur when the optical assembly becomes unstable. this ((Whole One Piece)), assembly incorporates the spin/load motor, optics housing /arm, tracking device and tracking rail. This is connected to the loading dock assembly. This 'NO Disc' or CD NOT PLAYABLE, code is the result of a failed or burned out lens, or misaligned loading mechanism. It is possible that you have a dirty lens cap. you can try using a cleaning disk in this case to confirm actual lens failure. if the cleaning doesn't restore normal reading capabilities, this will confirm my diagnosis.

You will need to have the optical assembly replaced in this case. once replaced, your unit will be able to read and track once more

Cdrom doesnt recognise blank dvd. error message


Its only cd writer burner and can only that it can read dvd disc also. That is why its called combo. But burning blank dvd it can't. But if you want buy some dvdburner too.

Try different discs to determine whether it's the disc or the drive. If it's the drive the the lens on drive might be dirty, try cleaning it with proper "Cleaning CD" if that doesn't help the drive it self might be going out (as in the mechanical parts on the drive). In the later case the only solution is buy a new drive.

Hi, first that everything is necessary to know with that operating system these working, if you work with windows XP you must update the version of the BIOS that corresponds according to the model of your machine, if this does not correct the mistake at the time must replace the unit of CD.

Hi, according to what I understand the unit works for some situations especially but you cannot visualize the content, in this case the problem that you one presents shows off to be Cd-DVD's unit that this trumping, if the equipment this one even in guarantee, you must come to an CAS or Center of Authorized Service, in order that they diagnose and replace the unit

Cd-dvd rom error code 10. failed to start


Hi,

I had similar problems with my HP computer and i found either uninstall it through device manager the reinstalling it through new hardware wizaed in control panel. Or if that doesnt work try opening your laptop up and unplugging/removing the drive itself and restarting the laptop then turn it off again and put the drive back in the computer should then register it as a new device and reinstall it. that second option worked for my drive so it should hopefully work for yours
