Question about Panasonic KX-T7731 Corded Phone

1 Answer

Paging a specific extention but not all

I would like to be able to page to one extenion but not all at once, everyone doesn't need to know when one person gets a call but i hate waiting for that extention to answer when i could just page to their extention and they would hear.

    NEW QUESTION FOR YA RELATED TO THE LAST ONE... IS THERE A WAY THAT I CAN CALL INTO THE SPECIFIC OFFICE, TELL THEM SOME THING AND THEM THEN RESPOND TO ME AND I BE ABLE TO HEAR THEM? THANK YOU!

    CRYSTAL

  • crystall508 Jan 13, 2009

    OK, THANK YOU. I CAN'T HEAR THEM BUT THEY CAN HEAR ME USING THE PROG 42 AND PROG 41 JUST RINGS THEM AGAIN. THE FACT THAT THEY CAN HEAR ME IS CHEESECAKE FOR DESERT AND IF THEY COULD ANSWER ME BACK WOULD BE THE SECOND SLICE OF CHEESECAKE. MAYBE IT'S NOT AN OPTION ON OUR PHONES.

    HAVE A GREAT DAY!

The quickest way is to use the AUTO ANS button on the receiver's phone. However, it can be programmed to not work....

Depending on the phone system, you can program the intercom to be Voice only, Ring only, or switchable with the button. If the button doesn't work, please post back with the model number of the phone system and I'll get you instructions.

    Please go back to the back room and find the model number of the SYSTEM. A 7731 is a PHONE.

    To the phone you want to be on voice call, go to it and press PROG 42 STORE.

    PROG 41 STORE changes it back to ringing.

    The AUTO ANS button will probably have no effect if you do this.

    If you looked at the display before you pressed 42 it said the same thing :-) Just press PROG again or pick up and drop the handset in the cradle.

    O.K. So the previous answer was just to see if you were paying attention :-).

    The PROG 41 and 42 is really TONE/VOICE call switches.

    If you use PROG 41, the AUTO ANS button works for Voice Announce/HF answerback. If you use PROG 42, the AUTO ANS button works for HF answerback. IOW the AUTO ANS button has to be lit no matter what mode you choose for the HF part to work.

    Please read that again. As long as you press the AUTO ANS button so it's lit, you will have HandsFree Answerback. Always.

I have an Avaya Partner 18D phone here at work, I had reset the phones accidentally. Now everything works fine, besides the page button. I am unable to press "intercom" then "page all" to say anything to...

When you reprogrammed, did you do #505, group 7 to tell the phone system what ports the voicemail was? The voicemail is picking up because the ports are set to ring (which gets turned off, when you tell the system those are voicemail extensions by using #505)

If there were phones that were paged before, my guess is that they were in a calling group, then there were buttons set to page the calling group. (Intercom *72, 73, 74, etc) Intercom *70, pages overhead as well as the phones in group 1 (71)

Turn off Ringer For External Calls Only

If you use strata emanager it would depend on how your system was set up. One way is to go to Advanced configuration tab Station tab, multiple call group tab, click on the group number (far right), then member tab and select extention and ringing option. Another way is to go again from the advance configuration tab, then assignment tab select the extention number on the right select key assignment tab, and on the incoming extention line double click it nd select no ring.

We can't figure out how to turn off the intercom paging

Firstly, on your set that you want the paging to be taken off, dial FEATURE 0 and the intercom button to get the extension of your phone. Now hit the RLS button.

FEATURE * * 2 6 6 3 4 4
Password: 2 6 6 3 4 4

now you need to know the template (you will see 3 arrows on the screen of the phone):
<- Heading Enter->
<- Back Next->

Now you you will see:
-> TERMINALS&SETS and press Enter
-> type in the extension of your set and Enter
-> hit Next and enter at CAPABILITIES
-> keep hitting next till you see PAGE ZONE:1 and then press CHANGE till it says NONE
-> hit next once and then the RLS button...

Voila, your set will now not page anymore.

Line 2 will not ring if on line 1

It's still a bit hard to solve, but a typical RCA Visys system has programming options for each line. Here's a manual for one of the family http://www.rca4business.com/products/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=17&idproduct=17

On page 15 you set the ringing tone and OFF is an option. On page 18 under Call Alert Tone, there are specific instructions for setting up each line to ring. It has to be programmed for each line in order to work. If you typically answer the phone on a specific set, I would make sure that line 2 is programmed to ring on some of the other sets. Also, you might want to make sure that you have more than one phone ringing on both lines just for this case.

I hope this helps.

Carl

it depends on the phone system type. The name changes are done in programming mode. But to enter programming varies by system. You need tech support.

Extention Display Name

This detailed instruction is not in the small book that came with the phone. It will be found in the binder or full sized publication titled “User Manuel’ for the models KX-TD816 and KX-TD1232 that came with the phone system.
You will want to use the overlay that DID come in the smaller book. You will place it on top of the buttons and it will provide programming commands listed in the instructions.

Page 71 has the “Getting into programming” details.

[Program], **, 1234

Now you are in user programming mode.

Page 87 will instruct you how to program names.

Press 004, [Next], [jack number] (ext 101 = jack #01-1, ext 102 = jack #02-1 ect…)
Once the jack and the old name are displayed, press [Clear] and then start pressing the letters according to the “Overlay”. (3 = 3 D E F) press the S-button that displays the correct character. S-buttons are the 3 buttons directly below the display. When you are done press [Store] and you can press [Next] to se more jacks or just exit by pressing [Program].
