Question about Sharp LC-13AV4U 13 in. EDTV-Ready LCD Television

WHEN I TURN TV ON IT SHUTS OFF IN LESS THAN 10 SECONDS

I HAVE HAD THIS TV FOR 14 MONTHS AND IT HAS BEEN WORKING FINE. ALL OF A SUDDEN WHEN I PUT IT ON IT KEEPS SHUTTING DOWN.

These sets have a tendency to have bad power supply boards. They have to be replaced as a complete assembly. you should only call out, or take this set to an authorized Sharp repair center my friend. Good Luck

Although the OP was 2009. I had this problem.

I simply replaced the power board. Which I bought from ebay for $20AUD.
It was real easy to remove as well. Just have a look for youtube videos.

I turn on the tv and it shuts off after a couple seconds


if you unlpug your tv and plug back is the green ligth blinks for one minute?

Can not turn off power lock


hold volume up and menu buttons at same time for 10 seconds - under left edge of tv

The green is taking over all the color on the tv

I have the same TV which had the same issue ( green in picture ) - back on 10/2007. I called Sony. They had their technician replace the optical box ( factory defect ). There was no charge for the repair even though TV was out of first year of warranty. Call Sony.

Screen shuts off within 10 seconds after turnon, if power not connected to car

Power shut off


The set is still sensin a problem thats why it shuts off, in this units the problem is in the vcr section,check the cassette assambly sometimes is jammed and it will not load or one side of the cassette tray is pushed in too far or misaligned.It will continuo to shutdown until the problem is corrected.Be careful when working on it.
